Fitzgerald thought they’d done a good job with the watering, having it in his opinion on the softer side of good/soft, then Luke Harvey reckoned it wasn’t going to suit horses who wanted soft ground, so take your pick

We've just had a Gold Cup run 6 seconds faster than standard and the Midlands National run 40 seconds slower than standard both run on good to soft ground!
