Just shows that all the slaters of jockeys should perhaps keep their own counsel regardless of their perceived knowledge?
Just remember what these people do day in and day out to provide you with entertainment regardless of ability, I was at a memorial meeting in Sassari last July for Stephano Cherchi. A flat jockey and a young man, just like Michael a jump jockey. Would any of you have the guts to do what these young men did to make a living? |

Jesus wept, they are Jockeys FFS, its hardly like going down a mine.! |
By:
Charlie Maggs in the 5oc. Yeah, great guy.
By:
My grandfather and great grandfather went down mines GC, owned a couple where their money came from, both served in World Wars, did you do anything similar in your own career?
Explain the difference if you can in terms of risk? |
By:
That was a strange one, kept thinking when is he going to go and considering where he was and his in running price, I think a few others thought he was travelling well and could pick them up at anytime.

Jockeys are doing it for themselves , no different than formula drivers. They do nothing for the punters.
They do it because they want to , because they enjoy it . |

Without looking at the stats its safe to say being a miner is far more danngerous than being a Jockey.
You were making them out to sound like Bomb Disposal experts, not folk in an entertainment industry. |
By:
And regards your War effort comments, during our last skirmish with the Argies I was happily helping put a Helicopter deck on the qe2 ... And you were. ??
By:
Just remind me GC when I mentioned losing our Kit from the Atlantic Conveyor how you disappeared after bragging about your service in the South Atlantic?
By:
Very inappropriate thread considering the fall was fatal. Very bad form from the op.
By:
Want to share documented stuff GC, already done from my side, posted on here!!!
Where are yours for YOUR South Atlantic ventures? Ran away last time but I feel your heroism coming to the fore with proof? |
By:

Possibly, if the op was aware, but its my guess he wasnt. |
By:
How about you follow up with the evidence of your stint in 82? Jog your mind the Rapier Battery, maybe even the Sir Galahad?
By:
Problems with it all GC? Maybe you should have thought about comparisons over decades or centuries even? Jockeys risk bodily injury and death every day to provide YOU with entertainment, a couple have lost their lives in that sphere recently.
Does it never make you pause to consider your lies and life on this Forum? |
By:
Given the time dd spends starting decent discussion threads on racing and the fact he appears to have lots of respect for the sport itself i'd say he wouldn't have been aware of any fatality.
By:
.. Yes, pretty obvious to most Hayden.
By:
So why is he so quick to start the threads?
By:
oops

By:
The forum curse strikes again !
By:
He does have his share of falls but he wins on more outside rides than for his dad. Poor schooling?
By:
He can`t ride for a toffee! , useless at judging pace , and pathetic in a finish! Riding for his own fun .
