Most can be enjoyable viewing but still have my doubts about pro punting….

I think it would impress most if they could prove their income is from 100% punting their subject and no ‘ other income’

40 years punting I’ve met a right few ‘ pros’ who had other interests ie property, pubs, hotel, car lots etc…..

1.01 you will struggle to find…

But how did they get the money to buy the pub/hotel/car lot ??

From punting?

Possibly…

Quite possible they came before the punting…..

Pre exchange a good few had tipping services etc….

First one I met at Newmarket came from Bath…..playing a monkey a bet….soon came to light he owned property earning him 4 grand a week….

Told me he was a professional gambler…..eh! ……no.

formy thinks if I can't make it pay nobody can. A lot think that. And it's why Betfair isn't as dominant as many thought it would be. Too painful to think others are winning.

I would need to see proof Howard tbh…..no doubt there are players on the exchange now who trade and play in running get a living….

I’m referring to the pros who are on course most days punting in readies…..

There’s a list as long as the M6 who claim to be pros but with other income…..fact! …..

Too painful….lol…

I’ve said many a time I like punters getting a return tbh…..

But I like facts……a certain Scottish player (deceased) who was well known to most turned out to have fingers in a few pies propping up the punting…..

Lochy - you are sooooo narrow minded and one-dimensional in your thinking.

Why wouldn't somebody that is making their betting pay also have fingers in lots of other pies? I would say by definition, if you possess the qualities required to make betting pay, it's more than likely you would also strive to be successful in other areas of your finances. Why would anybody in their right mind focus on only one stream of income if other good streams of income were equally available to them?

Every time you comment on the topic of "pro-punting" you expose the fact that you don't understand life, betting or how to make money work for you.

"I’m referring to the pros who are on course most days punting in readies…"    You are 30 years out of date. Nobody doing that these days. Paying massive expenses to get lower odds.

I do find your thinking on this subject strange, Ace.

Why can a person making money out of punting not be allowed to invest in other things?
By:

When: 10 Mar 25 13:51
I never said that.I only asked if there are any out there claiming they made a living from horse racing 100%

You simply cannot claim to be a pro punter earning and paying bills by taking off the bookmaker when you have another source jacking up the loss…..

Let’s call it semi-pro….part time pro Bla Bla Bla…..hobby etc…..
