Times have certainly changed, there would have been 10/20 grand laying that at 1000.

Gavin Sheehan has time and again proven the whip rules are absolutely fine , 7 is plenty to see if a horse has any more to give. The horse was going nowhere, yet 4 or 5 was ample to get the job done. Another ride of the season contender for Sheehan.

it wasn't matched for more because there were no physical backers, only bot matching

I can't recall a winner like that where the jockey had given up so close to the finish in a competitive race, and still ends up winning.
By:

One at Cheltenham in Wylie's colours.
Jockey easing down and pulling up coming down the hill,
but then flew home.

Unfortunately, can't remember the name or whether it won or not.

Probably Inglis Drever who ran in snatches to say the elast.

my thought was Tidal Bay, who could run like that at times

Coming down the hill in Chelts is pushing half a mile out. This was halfway up the run in he had effectively stopped trying!
By:

When: 08 Mar 25 15:02
Yes could have meant that one Andriy i'd forgotten about him , Inglis would probably be remembered anyway being a multiple stayers hurdle winner.
By:
Andriy
When: 08 Mar 25 15:05
Just gone back through the form of both, based on race writeups i'd say it's probably Inglis' first stayers when he beat Baracouda.

My memory has been playing tricks

Think it was Tidal Bay in Imperial Commander's 2009 Ryanair

https://youtu.be/BDgGgRyf9_o?si=HfQziP3Ig4Txnmzj

O'Regan seemed to give up coming down the hill
and is out of the picture for the last 2-3 furlongs
Stays on for a fast finishing 4th

Remember people on here wondering how much closer he would have been
if O'Regan had perserved throughout?

if it was still peer to peer, your judgement against mine there'd have been plenty more traded at 1000. People don't like handing money to bots.

Probably because there's so little money left any more.

"there obv aint any 1000 layer nay more" ( saturday case )    But you would have laid it Rico. And so would others.  The "problem" was nobody wanted to back it.  Likely the same 15 years ago.
