You are fighting a losing battle Rico, any horse not getting a run is bent. Had he came off the rails and a gap had then appeared they would have moaned he should have waited.

The majority of them wins, more luck than trainer judgement.
Water of Leith certainly doesn't put it in all the time, has plenty of ability but total untrustworthy

How many riders going well choose to stay behind near the rail getting cover….then try the rail…
How many choose to stay covered up near the outside capable of getting a good clear run when they switch to the wide part with room for twenty buses…..

At that gaff though the majority of winners come middle to stand side, although granted a few have came wide and won, the place to be is stand side rail to four or five horses wide. They get more interference their because of the normal lack of pace and the fact that everything congragates stand side. Had the gap opened up the race or the ride doesn't get a mention

His past certainly doesn't do him any favours, on how his rides are viewed but there are loads of horses that run regularly at Newcastle that would get any jockey hung, added to the way the races are run, no pace, all coming stand side, rightly or wrongly I think he sometimes gets a raw deal. Probably rightly though I doubt many on here will give 2 hoots about that.

It's funny, I thought with the long wide straight there would be less hard luck stories at Newcastle than at all the other AW tracks but that hasn't proved to be the case.
But, Mulrennan seems to have more bad luck than most, being kind, maybe the higher number of rides he gets makes it stand out.

In fairness he definitely does, I suppose there could be a few reasons why, some good, some bad and some pure ugly. it's just really strange the majority are at that track, like you say there is plenty of room,

He and his ilk are the reason Mark Johnston advocated banded racing (not that dreaded word!) where the prize money ramps up significantly as you progress through the bands. The trouble is the prize money is just pitiful at every level so little incentive.
I guess Jordan Electrics had some kind of niggle straightened out as he aged.
