She made the wrong call by going for the rail but only because the gap was closed and it was too late to go round. Happens every day on AW.

I backed the horse and thought she had him in a great position and as sageform says the gap closed ,that’s racing.

When I become a BHA approved jockey coach, I'll be telling my pupils that imo if there is one jockey whose inside you shouldn't try to get up, then it's Luke Morris's, particularly if he's about to undertake a right-handed drive (for all I appreciate there were different circumstances last night). Furthermore, know your opposition, and last night the horse to Mason's right was a big outsider who had done a lot of running from a wide draw so was always likely to fold.

I did think the ride lacked a bit of composure and it almost immediately opened up like the Red Sea to her right.

Meh, armchair jockey, blah, blah, blah..Well maybe.

she would have won had she gone that way but should jockeys have to allow for certain others deliberately blocking their run? I suppose they should but why are the stewards there?

I didn't say "deliberately", sageform, but if I were a jockey and I see the jockey ahead of me is Luke Morris  who might be about to start to flailing away (and I acknowledge that wasn't the circumstance last night), no way am I going to try and get between Luke and the rail if another option might become available. That's all I'm saying.

Fine George. I am making a general point that an opening on the rail was available but it disappeared once Jo went for it. If she had come wide and been beaten she would also have been criticised.
