Jimnast, I was at Fontwell in 89 the day Beech Road won, didn't back it that day but did back him at 50/1 in the Champion Hurdle 2 or 3 weeks later on the strength of what I'd seen

I also backed beech road in the champion hurdle amazingly a few weeks later he won again at Aintree at 10/1 that’s some price for a horse that was the champion hurdle winner.
If you remember he had been novice chasing that season and fell at Cheltenham the screens were out but he got up and they reverted back to hurdles.

That GN day was a very good day for me as well Jimnast Did Beech Road again, at 10/1 as you say, then Little Polvier in the GN at 28/1 as I recall. Then I saw Morley Street was running in the last on the card so stuck him in as well,on the basis that if I was backing Toby to have 2 winners in a day, might have 3 .. Might have been a bumper or novice hurdle, but anyway he won as well at about 3s... A good evening ensued
