Not a race for me, but at the prices I’d agree with you.

Id be guessing, just like i did when i backed Lossiemouth....The Mullins horse price is very tempting but a race to watch imo.

I was just checking the betting again and to my astonishment Jonbon is 2/13 as I type to be in the first two. Given that it has never been out of the first two it looks a steal but it has to jump the fences...
That said, Energumene is 1/2 to be placed. I know which price I would go for but sticking to the win. |

They all gave Jonbon the race. Everyone knows to beat Jonbon you take it on and put its jumping under pressure. Awful from Townend again

I think the betting is wrong here and hopefully taken advantage the 3.2 on Energumene. Has the better form imho and personally I think it should be evens your pick. ewe were right stewy they were rong..shud have been 1/20 20/1.WD. |

I could not back Jonbon today either but after 5 easy wins, perhaps we are underestimating him. Nicky H. had a horrible patch of form up until Xmas but with Constitution Hill apparently back to form, Sir Gino still unbeaten and Jonbon unbeaten for 12 months, he has the last laugh on his detractors. Still far too many finishing last or nearly last though.

I'm not getting too carried away ,he has btn 2 11 yos and was given an easy lead ,the pace and horses upside in the champion chase he may not find it comfortable and he can make the odd mistake in those situations .

The more Patrick is involved in the training the poorer they're running. No doubt Willie will get back on the steering wheel before Cheltenham.

Mullins done this time and time again and often the big u turn at the big one in March
|

By:
Fair point FOYLES but the horse has such guts and that makes him an irresistible watch.
|
|
By:
not saying he wont win the champ chase he obviously has a good chance but he is short enough and has been beating up mexican roadsweepers in small fields in many of his races ,thats not his fault if not many want to run against him but put him and his jumping under pressure and then we will see what he is made of , hopefull of a biggish field in the champion chase ,i will prob back a few against him and the front of the market .

Apart from the 11yo Energumene and a fragile Gaelic Warrior, what would you back to beat him? I would expect Marine National to chase him home.

Not sure why but he definitely does not seem to perform as well at the track. Hoping he can win though as he deserves a festival victory. |

what would you back to beat him ? you might not have to beat him but an ew bet at big odds will give ya 3 chances ante post of the win and 2 places ,and you wont have to lay out so much.
|

By:
Yes and that is what I will be looking for. There is one that would leave him for dead of course and that is Sir Gino.
|
|
By:
yep he,s got a card full of falls behind him, you can back any horse you like in the hope a few will fall, wont run their race etc,or even if ones named after your fav colour or after your fav granny
|

By:
Cracking horse,Jonbon, hope he wins the Chmpn Chse, meself.
|
|
By:
yep or you could back the fav or 2nd fav every time after all the experts say it should be between them and the betting tells ya that only the fav or 2nd fav can win stands to reason ,easy game this !

all three of his defeats have come at Cheltenham its true, one against Const Hill, one against El Fabio (put in his place at Sandown) and the other when ridden by Sean Bowen for the first time and it wasnt a great ride tbh yet still nearly won.
Generally his jumping is v.good though not spectacular, a lot may depend on how stables are doing come Chelt. hope he wins Champion Chase as a reward for his consistency, certainly deserves to be where he is in market |

oops wrong Bowen sorry Sean....
