Getting beat on a few he should have won on recently.

appalling ride.

By:
Yes was unfortunate but imo horse couldn't quicken when first 3 went clear around final bend but then ran on very strongly to just not quite get up.
|
|

It does emphasize what a great judge of pace he must be to be able to judge just how many lengths he needs to be adrift in order to still be able to get within a head looking unlucky.
|
|
By:
stu...all the more reason to have point2point placed horse closer to the pace

Misjudged the winning post by two fences. Gifted a race to a horse who never wins.
|
|
By:
Skelton misjudged his ride by the length of the straight.....I wonder what he was thinking there?
|

On the crest of a wave at the moment - 10 winners from the last 14 rides. Will no doubt be hoping it continues into Cheltenham. If it does should be one of the first names on the list for outside rides.

No rides tomorrow only 1 at plumpton monday

Rides one for Tom Weston in the bumper at Hereford. Might not have the same ammunition, but Weston does appear to prepare his bumper horses better than several stables ahead of him in the market. This one has some decent horses in the pedigree, including Keen Leader. Be a surprise, but not out of the question.

Just had a look back on keen leader’s career this morning hadn’t realised he ran in best mates 3rd gold cup ,his final run was in the first betfair chase at haydock the 7 runners
Kingscliff Beef or salmon Kicking king Keen leader Royal auclair Take the stand Ollie magern |

Without looking him up he didn't fulfill that initial promise, but he did do more than most from that yard. Certainly more than most these days.

Going back to Jones, I was thinking how well this is working out for him. It could have been very different. Hobbs effectively chose Nolan over him, and Lavelle chose Bellamy over him. At the time I argued that both of those decisions were wrong. Neither of those yards would have been able to provide the Graded ammunition that Pauling is now serving up. In my view Townend is top of the pile at the moment, and has by far the best job, but with that comes the extra pressure. At the moment Jones is right up there with the next pool who can get the job done, and at a high level. His confidence must be very high, and that is shown in him, more often than not, producing horses at the right time. I have always liked his positivity, and as a punter much prefer that to hold-up merchants like Bowen, Skelton, and Walsh.

Certainly done him no harm moving away from Hobbs he’s been an imposter for quite a few years now although doing a little better this season ,jones kept the ride on georgi girl until Exeter last week, never been a fan of lavelle the fact she choose Bellamy says it all .

Regarding keen leader yes he was overall disappointing after his fall in the sun alliance hurdle when in with a shout he spent a lot of time on the floor ,he did win both the towton and reynoldstown before running a shocker in the sun alliance chase.

Never understood the love affair with Tom Bellamy. For me he has never been anything more than a journeyman jock. He has somehow managed to be stable jock for both Bailey and Lavelle. He got off to a good start with Bailey, but that honeymoon period has now long on. I thought he was awful on Moon Rocket the last twice, just lazily sitting still while the horse made mistakes. These yards don't have that many prospects, and you have to get it right on the good one's.

Certainly at Doncaster the horse jumped poor at haydock.

I love betting this guy, upgrades everything he touches

It seems like stating the obvious wondorsobright when punting having a jockey on board you have confidence in is a big plus.

Even I can't stop him - 12/16. Three bets today, and the other two had finished, one just touched off. Took double figures last night, although big Rule 4.

finished second.

outsider of 3

That was his last winner. Few nothing rides since. Will have a few high profile rides at Aintree. Interesting to see if the confidence returns. With his positive style he is always going to make more of a difference if he is somewhere near the front.

Not sure, was going ok and then just went off the track

"Prominent, 3 lengths third when pulled up just before 3 out, dismounted"! ............. Racing Post
.... It`s a mystery. |

By:
Looked to me at first glance that he lost control of the steering but surely not. Like I said, hope the horse is ok.

Jones said lost it's action.Vet reported horse OK.

Terrible Aintree. Up to 20 losers now. Few chances at Ffos Las. Badly needs one on the board.

and again......

Did alright there, that one looked beat.

Few being backed today.
Has had a terrible run since the Cheltenham Festival winner. Season has fallen apart. Something like 1 winner from well over 30 rides with several beaten favourites. Hard to know why. Pauling has dipped, but it must be more than that. Hopefully, he doesn't think he has 'arrived'. It's one thing getting towards the upper echelon. another thing staying there. |
