A larger fee for me this week than it would have been under the previous structure.

anyone had it taken out yet?

Annoying that the 'My Profit and Loss' in Betting Activity is after tax but the Expert Fee is the Gross figure.
Also they should amend the buffer to display the amount you can win in the following week before moving up to 40% rate, (ie. 100,000 - current gross P/L figure + P/L from week 1, 52 weeks ago) |
|
By:
9.11 Expert Fees will be deducted from customer accounts weekly (after Monday noon) in relation to the previous week’s activity (Monday to Sunday)
looks like a change from a weds |

|
By:

I am unable to navigate to the portal for some reason. If I put the url directly into the browser it works though. For anyone else having this issue the url is
https://myaccount.betfair.com/activity/expert-fee |

Should be under the betting activity tab like other's have said AccessViolation. Surprised it readily available o be honest as they used to restrict the PC pages to the payers so people don't get shocked at the amount of comms they've paid, especially their lifetime comms
![]() |
|
By:
There were also non-PC payers who could access the PC page (e.g. myself) although I don't know what the criteria were for having access to it.
I had the Expert Fee link appear yesterday but not today. I don't have anything appear in the Buffer box anyway which is all I'm really interested in. There should be a Buffer figure for everyone even if the last 12 months don't justify it (based on data since last PC payment or lifetime data for people who have never paid PC). |
|
By:
The PC portal was only available to those who had gone under 50% total charges so even many long term winners would not have had access.

I qualified for it just. I think if you made £10k one week, and that bought you up to a 52 week total of £25,000 then you would pay up to 19% (£1.9k) extra in Expert fees on the £10k you won that week. But if you were to win £9,999 that week bringing your 52 week total to £24,999, you'd pay nothing. They are extreme figures ofc, and I don't know if that is right at all, but in the rules and how the page is displayed that is how it looks.

By:
I'm reading it that the fee is set for the following week, regardless of how you do in that week. It states the date range and the fee rate.
Obviously if that win pushed you over a threshold the following week's rate would be higher. |
|
By:
Would be good to get clarity on it.
|
|
By:
The calculation is done from Monday to Sunday of every week. Thus, for next week's debit it is being calculated based on information from this week (which is still being calculated up until Sunday). Thus, once the week completes, if the threshold is exceeded, it is a possibility for the rate to change. Below you can find more information on this:
https://betting.betfair.com/betfair-announcements/exchange-news/the-betfair-exchange-expert-fee-faq-111224-6.html That's what they told me which i still don't think clarifies it! |
|
By:
The link clearly states that they calculate the rate at the start of the week.
Surely if it was going to be applied to the "current" week, it would say they calculate the rate at the end of the week? |
|
By:
*it being a change based on your activity within the "current" week.
|
|
By:
mine does say the fee rate "next week" will be 20%, so that does suggest if I was below £25k at the start of the week and won a bundle in the current week taking me over £25k it wouldn't apply to the bundle I won in the current week.

Strange or convenient Shafter being as you frequently claimed to have only one account and never tell lies?
|

By:

By:
Do your worst Shafter because there are none, you on the other hand would struggle to find a single truth you ever posted. You must have been distracted when I predicted this exact scenario, you are a joke laughing stock the likes of which this Forum has never seen, makes Fraudy look believable!!

In 2024, Tobymugaryliar from the Betfair forum was named the world's biggest liar after telling a story about how he was crowned King of the Betfair Forum.
This accolade was achieved after he claimed to have caught 2 x 250lb tuna, coincidentally the same 2 tuna an Italian gentleman caught and verified. He also claimed to have laid City of Troy for £155,000 but still claimed a £11,000 prophet on the event. Often claims he's +862 LSP despite retiring from the Div 2 comp when in 22nd plaice. He also claims to have for sale a betting cistern for £600,000 with offers welcome. 4 lies that were oscar nominated...and wonders why he's the forum laughing stock.. #WAC |

By:
Thank you Shafter, you just proved what we all know, you are incapable of a truthful post!!!
|
|
By:
I was going to mention all the bets you laid and lost and never paid but the world knows you are a con man and not a very good one TBH!!!
|
|
By:
BTW did I mention that I am in the UK for a few weeks having arrived last Friday to bring our dog for treatment as a last resort? She was sadly put to sleep at 1632 hrs today with no options left. Fortunately it will not be a completely futile trip as the Shafter character was easily found via former colleagues.
So good news that I will finally meet this character who owes many and will collect as much as legally possible and permitted, I am sure you will rest easy to get that monster off your back Rico? Consider it a service and you are welcome if it helps you move on? |
|
By:
To put your mind at rest btw Rico, relax because shafter thinks you reside in Wallsend!!
|
|
By:
no vets in Sardinia?
|
|
By:
Such a comedian, then again you have no empathy for humans and would not do anything to help one let alone do the best for your pet.
Give it up Rico, leave for all time otherwise it will make you ill, ask Shafter if you doubt the wisdom, not hard to disabuse him of Wallsend btw!!! |

just a supposition but surely if you started this week on +£1000 last 52 weeks and won £25,000 this week you cant be expected to pay 20% of the £25,000? it must have to be what your last 52 weeks profit is at the beginning of that week?
