Go placidly amid the noise and haste
and remember what peace there may be in silence.

Plenty of silence as that 265/1 shot bolts up at Wolver.

Wasn't what you'd call heavy metal or punk rock, but has a place imo.

The clues in sub standard races when you can throw a blanket over the field are sometimes there at huge prices , ex Ryan Potter horse linked to McNally , didn't spot this myself btw it was pointed out to me.

Happy New Year

WITH RONAN McNally’s imminent appeal hearing over his 12-year suspension, an ex-horse of his, Ithaka, landed a tidy gamble in England recently. The horse is now in the care of little-known trainer Ryan Potter and was having his fourth start for new connections. Although he had been beaten out of sight at big odds on… Read more

Every little helps.

Won

Some who knew must have had a few quid on even if not fancied but I think they knew because the horse has an engine obviously. Tiny stable don't fill their tiny stables with bangers.

Hehe

Seriously, always pays in the end and trust me, been here what seems to be a life time and probably is in all honestly.

Don't want to tempt fate but starting 2025, so far, has been the best for many years. Not horses, silly slots and bingo. Decent wins too for me......a lifetime in the gambling starting from when I owed dogs.

Anyway, sorry for my ramble, only observe from the sidelines usually.

For anyone that doesn't know this Poem/Song here's a link on youtube.

Think should follow up again tonight but Evens instead of 265/1.
Time was a full 2nd quicker than 2nd division, and that winner won by 4 1/2 lengths, only slightly slower 0.1 secs than the h'cap won later by Masqool carrying 3lb less rated 62. So if times mean anything should win this off 52.

Looks as if they fancy the chances in 8.00 as well with Ocean Ridge, haven't looked at that race though.

Hi and sorry for late reply, just seen it today as I don't use the forum regularly.

Never had anything good enough to grace the major southern tracks but northwards, mainly Peterborough, Notts, Sheffield, Hull, Stainforth aswell as a few flapping tracks for the fun of it leading upto ORs with a complete unknown.

Long time ago, decades infact, a whole lot of fun looking back regardless of the overall eventual losses (training cost, purchase costs, Ireland visits...everything) BUT did have quite a few decent (proper running today) gambles which did pay very well and that feeling when yours is 3 clear down the back straight knowing they can't be caught really gets the adrenaline pumping.

I enjoyed it for a fair few years but moved on when they was nowhere to race unless you had a corker and was willing to travel.Hard industry for all involved except the bookies and naive punters.

Sounds like we've had a similar past in the distant years Alona , mine too we're the likes of Notts , Sheffield and Belle Vue plus a couple of flappers like Winsford and Ellesmere Port , great days.

Must say i've never had a greyhound bet aside from one of my own or another dog when one of mine was in the race   Cool
