This has to rate as one of the best.

And yes, talking through my pocket as backed the second win only ( my fault ).

LIV MY LIFE in Southwell's 6:30, winning easily by no less than 4 lengths at 22/1.

Explanation : 'the filly benefited from returning to 7f on the all-weather.'

Except, this 4yo filly had no previous form over either 7f or on the all-weather.  Confused

well known gambling stable.

next question.

That's like the Return of the Saint with no previous series of The Saint. Plain

Point taken.

But, c'mon, surely they could've come up with a better explanation than that !

Change of feed ?

Nitrous oxide ?

Lasix ?

The Xmas episode of Gavin and Stacey tickled their funny bone.

Etc.

if,after however long you've been following horse racing, you cannot understand the vagaries of betting against human and equine variables then please stop betting please.

Report bluebook January 3, 2025 11:37 PM GMT
Yeah, you get funny results.

I know that only too well.

But how the hell can the stewards accept such a p*ss poor justification for such an improvement in form ?!

Gambling stable or not,as far as explanations go, the report card ought to say, 'must try harder... .'
Report chavman January 3, 2025 11:43 PM GMT
just one of those stables and with a more than competent stable jockey and money for the horse it wasn't exactly above the odds of probability
Report bluebook January 3, 2025 11:48 PM GMT
True.

It was backed, 28s into 22/1.

But still.

Interesting that a well-rounded explanation, the one you give, the trainer cannot give to the people supposed to be overseeing the game.

Example : why can't they just say, 'the previous jockeys were sh*te, but today we booked a half-way decent one.'

I jest.

Just wondered how you chose your moniker.

I'm from Chatham, and the term 'chav' is supposed to have originated from here.

The horse was considered good enough to make her debut at the craven meeting where at 7/1 she finished 4th the winner went on to win the Albany at royal Ascot,in September 2023 of a7lb lower mark she won at goodwood in November she changed stables so there are 3 reasons to clutch onto, add to that last nights race was a very weak contest that all said to win the way she did was certainly a head scratcher.

don't know if it's true but the pundits were saying coming up the stand side was advantageous

Trainers don't have to offer the Stews an explanation. Many simply say they don't know!

Why do the stews bother asking? Probably to make it look like they're doing their job.

I noticed a Novice race the other day where a third time up runner was 500/1 on here. Clearly in to

get a low handicap mark. If the BHA was doing what it should be doing it would instruct the Stewards

to ask the trainer, before the race, what his instructions to the jockey will be and to comment on

why the poor previous performances.

The flaunting of the no trier rules is so blatant in British racing but with a nod nod wink wink to

the Stewards, trainers aren't held accountable.

I wasn’t suggesting anything like that regarding this horse sport is unpredictable just look at the premier league would anyone suggest that was **** ?
Report TheGoddess January 5, 2025 10:09 AM GMT
Maybe all trainers should submit jockey instructions to the stewards pre races with any deviation from those instructions penalised by fines and bans.
Report saxon farm January 5, 2025 10:20 AM GMT
Racing is a lot less r I g g e d than it was before the advent of side on, head on & scout cameras.
Report roggrain January 5, 2025 10:22 AM GMT
There is a partial answer to the problem but I doubt it would ever be implemented: No horse given a

handicap rating until it finishes in a placing.
Report jimnast January 5, 2025 11:14 AM GMT
Thegoddess

If a trainer instructed a jockey to make the running but as the tapes went up two other horse set of at a furious pace would it be the jockey or trainer who got fined
