But, c'mon, surely they could've come up with a better explanation than that !
Change of feed ?

But how the hell can the stewards accept such a p*ss poor justification for such an improvement in form ?!
Gambling stable or not,as far as explanations go, the report card ought to say, 'must try harder... .'

Interesting that a well-rounded explanation, the one you give, the trainer cannot give to the people supposed to be overseeing the game.
Example : why can't they just say, 'the previous jockeys were sh*te, but today we booked a half-way decent one.'
I jest.
True.It was backed, 28s into 22/1.But still. Interesting that a well-rounded explanation, the one you give, the trainer cannot give to the people supposed to be overseeing the game.Example : why can't they just say, 'the previous jockeys were sh*te,
The horse was considered good enough to make her debut at the craven meeting where at 7/1 she finished 4th the winner went on to win the Albany at royal Ascot,in September 2023 of a7lb lower mark she won at goodwood in November she changed stables so there are 3 reasons to clutch onto, add to that last nights race was a very weak contest that all said to win the way she did was certainly a head scratcher.

Trainers don't have to offer the Stews an explanation. Many simply say they don't know!
Why do the stews bother asking? Probably to make it look like they're doing their job.
I noticed a Novice race the other day where a third time up runner was 500/1 on here. Clearly in to
get a low handicap mark. If the BHA was doing what it should be doing it would instruct the Stewards
to ask the trainer, before the race, what his instructions to the jockey will be and to comment on
why the poor previous performances.
The flaunting of the no trier rules is so blatant in British racing but with a nod nod wink wink to
the Stewards, trainers aren't held accountable.
