Anyone on here attempting it?
Im slowly working my way through it but have been stumped by question 40.
Which big handicap hurdle was won by Desert hero?
a)Oxfordshire Stakes
b) Leopardstown November Handicap
c) Prix Du Cadran
d) Ascot Gold Cup

Well as far as I know they are all flat races, the Oxfordshire Staked being the old name for the Geoffry Freer stakes.
The only two horses called Desert hero in the past 30 odd years in Britain havent won any of them. The cadron and Gold Cup have never been jumps races. Is it possible that the Leopardstown race used to be one a long time ago?
Any assistance would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Right enough Geoff. John not Derek. Boycott famously ran him out at Trent Bridge to save his own wicket. Went down well...

Fluke Walwyn trained a Desert Hero in the 1980s.
I believe it won an Imperial Cup.

Cheers saxon. Youre right. Won it in 1983. So Im wondering if the Leopardstown November handicap used to be known as a handicap hurdle and its a race he won too? The other three races certainly were not.
The Oxfordshire stakes was also a greyhound race but doesnt appear to have been a hurdle race and no Desert hero won it anyway.
Its bugging the **** out of me if im being honest.
