Better off (most to least)
An existing PC payer who makes consistently less than £25k gross per year is much better off because they will no longer pay any charge.
Those will a lifetime bank of winnings who have lost in the last 52 weeks but return to profit will be much better off because EF only takes the last 52 weeks into account.
An existing 50% or 60% PC payer is much better off due to the scrapping of the higher rates.
An existing 40% PC payer who makes consistently less than £100k gross per year is much better off because they will now only ever pay 20%.
An existing 40% PC payer who flirts around £100k gross per year is somewhat better off because they will sometimes pay 20% and sometimes pay 40%.

be better off short/medium term as slightly down last 12 months but lifetime profit
Have been paying 40% since PC2, but annual earnings have been nothing like they were back then for years. I expect to be between 20 & 40% better off depending on how between now and the end of the snooker season goes. The last year has seen some lengthy gaps between meaningful drinks.
This all really effects such a few bet fair players. I would say overall, MOST will be better off. But come back in 5 years and see!

I think it's fair to say that Betfair are in the former (& they will make up a large % of the 80%).
Also seems like as good a time as any to be more selective. That's my new year's resolution sorted.

I have been searching for evidence of an uptick in volume nags in light og this development and I have seen none
once all the dormant accounts receive the email they'll all be flooding back.
Be nice if betfair revealed the true figure of how many customers pay PC, I'd have thought significantly more than the less than 0.1% they used to claim, hence the change.

Crowds are up people spending money like water, betting turnover up at Xmas, new trainers taking up licences, so hopefully no doom and gloom( RacingPost)_ around racing and its fortunes in 2025
I know this is the premium charge forum. But Ive never seen so many people going racing over Xmas, even taking into consideration the bad weather.
