It should be obvious, but we are dealing the guy who thought Ballyburn might be Champion Hurdle material. Instead he will be thinking I managed to tame Galopin Des Champs so why not this horse? They could easily go Ryanair this year and then think about going back up in trip. Far better that than doing it the other way round.

I do not think the budget airline race is for him. A shorter trip could disadvantage him. I think connections will stick with 3m eg The Bowl and King George (2025). However, it will be difficult for him to overturn his beating by Galopin Des Champs in the Gold Cup.

Mullins has 10 in the ryanair betting, cant  see the point in dropping down in trip  when you might end up meeting BRAINBRIDGE over his best trip on decent ground

Why do you think the shorter trip would disadvantage him?

It's all relative, if GDC wasn't in that race he'd have looked on the face of it to have been a decent winner and he would have still been a GC horse. It looks an obvious gut reaction to drop him down but GDC is exceptional, we can't say that FOF didn't stay because he did but was beaten by a better stayer.

By the same token he may stay the GC trip but be up against an even better stayer, he may still be better than the rest though and what if GDC under performs. I think he may still run in the GC.

Before Saturday's race Fact To File  just won a GD1 over shorter with Galopin Des Champs
in it.No disadvantage dropping him down from 3M on that form.

not sure the logic of beating a gold cup stayer and some spring gold cup plodders ,one already hammered in KG, taking on the real Ryanair specialists bares much scrutiny

I would think the Mulryans would be aiming at the GC the way FOS was traveling last year when it departed.
