What did Paddy Brennan say to upset NdB?

Social media and certain pundits may have “retired” Constitution Hill twice this autumn but Nicky Henderson’s outstanding seven-year-old proved he is still the one to beat by winning the Ladbrokes Christmas Hurdle – and led his jockey to call out some who had got it so wrong.

The pundit in the spotlight was former Cheltenham Gold Cup-winning jockey Paddy Brennan, who declared on Sky Sports Racing that: “I can’t see him [Constitution Hill] coming back to a peak. No, just no. I think it’s impossible to beat something like Lossiemouth the way things stand today.”

That prediction was made to look foolish as Nico de Boinville guided his charge to a comprehensive victory, before the jockey made his point in blunt fashion.

“He felt fantastic,” he said. “He’s going to improve an awful lot. There is still a bit of ring rustiness after a year or so. I think all the credit has to go to the guv’nor because that is some training performance. It’s been a long time coming and definitely worth the wait.”

He paused and then added: “And one more thing. Paddy Brennan, you can shove that where the sun don’t shine!”

And the formerly useless jockey, Brennan now has to take Matt Chapman out for a slap up meal in London as he said he would if CH won. What an utter fool he has shown himself to be to everyone when most of us knew anyway. Delighted he has been shown up for what he is, moron.

In a podcast with co-host Chapman Paddy Brennan was alleged to have said this. Paddy Brennan: "Lossiemouth will destroy Constitution Hill".

Nico has backtracked anyway. Says game is all about opinions blah blah blah.

Brennan is just trying to publicise the game in the modern way. Nico needs to keep up with why pundits do things to promote a sport.

It was a huge run by CH but their were many doubters after his year off and numerous excuses. I bottled the decision by just laying Lossiemouth.

You cannot win them all or get it right all the time; most is acceptable as long as it's profitable. The professional pundits/presenters and/or bookie stooges have got it wrong so many times eg Tiger Roll (2nd triumph) and City Of Troy (Derby) to name two. There are many others too.

True, horseracing is a game of opinions nevertheless, opinions must be established info based and proportionate to value; the heart or herd mentality does not pay in the long run. I'd challenge professional pundits/tv presenters and kookie stooges on picking "winners" antepost on prestigious races esp non-handicap.

PB opinions? Who gives a flying fook, how many tender rides he give and not a word said?

Paddy rode ours four times , found him very helpful and forthcoming . Have no issues with his comments , we all have opinions right or wrong . Blame the respondents more .

Cue Card would probably have at least one Gold Cup on his CV had Nico ridden him and doubt he would have made the same stupid move as Brennan did to put him on the deck for the second time at the same fence, so good to hear PB get a shot up his jacksie after costing me!!! lol
