Difficult race as Galopin only loses at Punchestown but as a general rule the younger horse usually beats the older one. I'm on Galopin

Two things were against Galopin Des Champs in his run against Fact To File eg making the running, and the shorter distance. Hopefully with a pacesetter and this longer trip a different result would prevail.

Willie's horses aren't firing at the minute so I'm having a few quid on Heart Wood EW. I know he has to find a bit on the rating but I think there is a bit of juice in his price.

there was a point down the back at punch where FOF looked 1st horse beaten ,I think there was an element of him and the KG disapointment picking up the pieces,so I,d like to see him do it again and backed GDC today at ev,s

As some of us said after Punchestown that was FOF's track. Leopardstown and Cheltenham completely different. Really was like Christmas getting Evens on this fella.

Galopin Des Champs very much deserved the win. He made the running and served it up to the rest esp Fact To File - the victor of the John Durkan. It'll take an exception run from any of his adversaries to deny him a 3rd Gold Cup triumph.
I think Fact To File has had his stamina limitation exposed today. He was outstayed today despite making a bad mistake early on. I think the King George next year will be on his agenda. |

I cashout on some accas culminating with Constitution Hill and/or Galopin Des Champs post the now renowned issues with the former and the emergence of Fact To File with the latter. Nevertheless, it was jolly good to witness Constitution Hill is still potent, and Galopin Des Champs is as good as ever.
