Anyone noticed big Al gets a lot of Cheltenham gigs now and no doubt will be there today or tomorrow. Do we think he is in the top notch commentators for a grade one track? Not criticising just wondering why he is getting the gigs in front of Holt, Machin etc

He doesn't shout or scream, or go hi-pitched for no reason, and doesn't add too much unneeded detail while commentating.
If he keeps that up, he's basically one of the best commentators for racing. |

Howes should be getting more of the big gigs. Does exactly what a commentator is paid to do. Unlike many of the others who try to be too clever.
