Currently sitting in "voided - open markets". I wonder what Betfair are up to here?
|
|
By:
told me it didn't go inplay but I can see from the transaction log on Gruss the bets took over a second to go in
|

Just checked my TPD logs. It went into play with only 713 metres left to run. Usual practice (although not always) would be to void these.
Good for me because I was responsible for a little bit of that 1.01. |

I got told they put it in play 30 seconds after the off time and that is why they voided all bets. I bet the winner and have had the money withdrawn. This is unlikely to be changed. I see races not suspended on time regularly. How can we rely on anything if that is the case that something can be voided at any point because someone didn't do the job they were meant to. If you void bets that were placed in between the off time and the suspension maybe I can see a way that works. But when a race is in play, as I believe it was, in the last furlong and they've seen it go 1.01, which I doubt it would do and money be would be sitting next next to every horse, including the eventual winner also. They wonder why people are going elsewhere.

Moved into "voided - closed markets" now so I guess the race is completely dead.

within the last 2 weeks we've had one go in play late (as in v late) and it's been settled across the board

That was my argument elise. Something feels off with how that was done today. After all let's not forget
Customers should be aware that: transmissions described as "live" by some broadcasters may actually be delayed; the extent of any such delay may vary, depending on the set-up through which they are receiving pictures or data; and information (such as jockey silks, saddlecloth numbers etc) is provided "as is" and is for guidance only. Betfair does not guarantee the accuracy of this information and use of it to place bets is entirely at your own risk. |

the bit you need is;
1.4 Horseracing and greyhound racing markets - not suspending at the time of the 'off' In relation to markets which are scheduled to be turned in-play, Betfair aims to use its reasonable endeavours to turn such markets in-play at the time of the 'off'. The time of the 'off' for such markets should be set out in the Market Information. However, regardless of what it says in the Market Information, Betfair does not guarantee that such markets will be suspended and turned in-play at the time of the 'off'. If a market is scheduled to be turned in-play but Betfair does not, at the official time of the “off”, either (i) turn such market in-play or (ii) suspend the market and cancel unmatched bets, all bets matched after the official time of the “off” will be void. If a market is scheduled to be turned in-play but Betfair does not suspend the market at the time of the “off” (so unmatched bets are not cancelled at that time), but the market is intentionally turned in-play at a later time during the event, all bets matched after the official time of the “off” will stand, except for Australian Horse Racing, where all bets matched after the “off” but before the point in time that Betfair turns the market in-play, will be void. and what we have are on some races two different outcomes depending upon who is managing it and so not always consistent |

they do as they please..fck everyone else.

Yeah absolutely, I get that and agree. I'm not bothered about the money, it's seeing the scenario today that has irked me. In all the time I've used Betfair ( a long time) that didn't feel right today. There has to be greater reliability, can't just be well we're doing it this way today, different tomorrow. Not when you literally see the same thing happen elsewhere, especially in foreign racing. Suspect something happened today for that decision.
