This is what the human race has become. Normal punters asking for 5er ew bets and being offered 17 pence ew. I mean a 5er ew isn't even a bet.

You will get you bets on here ten minutes before the off unless you want play around with bookmakers all day.

You misunderstand me 1st time p. A 5er ew is a bet that should be taken by EVERY "bookie" without even looking at it or caring. It's a miniscule bet for anyone to lay. But they seem petrified to even lay these minor bets now.

The old BF idea was basically right - it was the funeral of the 'bookie', but just we didn't see them carrying on so successfully as the new breed of zombie bookies they are now -

don't have to take bets anymore, back in the day they did.  they're basically casino's now, they make enough from that to refuse 99% of horseracing punters online, only taking bets from punters their algorithms have fingered as guaranteed long term losers or just complete mugs betting win only at 7/2 when the actual odds (per here) are nearer 6/1. 

if they want to keep running the casino, they should be forced to take a bet on horseracing to lose a minimum amount.  that's what they have a licence for, "to provide gambling facilities to players in Great Britain (England, Wales and Scotland)"

if you're no longer willing to provide these facilities without good reason just hand your licence back.  you won't be missed.

Foyles, I don't think it is so much they fear taking a bet, rather Horse Racing is an irritant and by restricting bets they can cull accounts by driving Horse Race punters away without too much effort. Probably find that accounts that use the Casino's etc do not face the same restrictions on Horse bets as these are what they want to retain and recruit.

The only way forward is to have two seperate licences and the Casino/gaming element only being possible with a Horse racing betting licence and a commitment to lay to a certain loss limit, the smaller the limit agreed the more expensive the licence, and I mean mega expensive with part of the fee going to the levy.
In other words, not willing to lay horses, no Gaming licence or an extremely expensive one with an increased level of tax. At least then there would likely be an incentive for them to lay a bet and the Gaming licence dependent on them signing up to do so.
