Week two of the Tote Ten to Follow jumps competition and the leaderboard has a completely different look with none of the teams that set the early pace still among the top group.
It might have been all so different if some of the most popular horses in the competition had fulfilled expectations but State Man – who figures in 64.1% of teams as the third most picked horse after the Nicky Henderson-trained pair Jonbon and Constitution Hill – Galopin Des Champs, who is the fifth most picked with 61.3%, Grey Dawning 31.6% and Fastorslow 25.9%, all failed to deliver the expected victories and points.
The tactic of doubling up in the major contests has certainly paid off for the Gary EadyRacing team that now tops the table thanks to Royale Pagaille mopping up 55.95 points with a gutsy display in the Betfair Chase to fend off Grey Dawning, while Brighterdaysahead added 29.35 points with her victory over State Man in the Morgiana Hurdle.
As well as having in his team the first two in both those races – including being one of only 2.2% to row in with Royale Pagaille – Gary EadyRacing also had the first and third in the John Durkan Chase, Fact To File who earns 30.80 points for his success, and dual Gold Cup winner Galopin Des Champs, who finished third.
With Champion Hurdle favourite Lossiemouth absent from the Morgiana because of a bruised foot, Fact To File was the second most picked winner of the weekend, with 49.4% of teams cheering home the new Gold Cup favourite.
However, although Ballyburn may have earned only 12.21 points for his effortless beginners' chase success at Punchestown on Saturday, the significance of his smooth transition to fencing will not have been lost on the 63.6% of teams who cheered him home and will now be expecting plenty more across the winter.
Watch out too for the Rio teams which sit together in joint-fifth place on the leaderboard as they contain Sir Gino, favourite for Saturday’s Fighting Fifth Hurdle in the absence of stablemate Constitution Hill.

'acey', your rendition was all about Sir Gino. My apology. I'm a little behind with horseracing at the moment. I'm disappointed Hendo put the mocker of Constitution Hill once again after eulogising his well-being and prowess.

There's absolutely no way mr Mullins will run Fact To File against Galopin Des Champ. The King George trip will further enhance (or not) the chance of Fact To Fact staying the Cheltenham Gold Cup distance.

Impossible are you on day release? Fact to File has already won over 3m 1f at Cheltenham, how will the easy 3m at Kempton be an enhancement on that for the GC?

Good start...I led the monthly in June 2000 until the very last day when Beat Hollow won a gp 1 in France...i had him in one list but unfortunately not in the two that would have won me a prize....GL with your lists...are you considering any substitutions?...difficult to see a weak link in your lists at the moment..

Acey I was just thinking how does one get six cheeks on one arse i.e Rico, Matt22 et al? Shafter seems to be in a permanent state of meltdown and sensitive to criticism aka exposure as a conman? Do you think this has affected the other cheeks in terms of their credibility or is it just Shafters sad fantasy that nobody ever guessed they were related?
T2R always seemed so confident nobody would ever guess but plenty knew he was one of the cheeks, too many clues that a Probationer Constable could have worked it out, like Ikeaman.
Is it he end of the Forum as it has been known i.e a cesspit or do you think the multiple cheeks of the same arse will pretend nothing has happened?
IYO

Thanks dealer, stew i did 14 entries i thought the only way i can have half a chance is to leave out the two big guns Galopin Des Champs and Stateman hoping to many hard races might have caught up with them.So far so good but it could all change by Christmas and i could sink like a stone.

I think the reigning champion has lost its bottle, and Energumene is a has been. My only reservation for Jon Bon is Hendo putting the mocker on him issuing bookie updates prior to March.

Tbh acey I could not back anything other than Jonbon at this stage and the price looks more than fair, has to get there though. Eric Morris claims a £1K double but only mentioned Jonbon after todays result, 7/2 tbf but he doesn't know the price of the second leg in he 12/1 double even though he has a betting slip from the high street.
Any idea his other user name (s)? lol

Gave up trying to help this cesspit acey but I cannot see why Protektorat is longer than the fav tomorrow, 2/1 not huge but should be 6/4 imo.
Going to have a £40 double with Jonbon for the CC @ 5/2 which is the best I can get, half yours for original stake if Skeltons wins if you want?
