Is there a reason every race has 4 runners or just coincidence ?Don't think I've seen that before.

The course is practically empty so the tiny fields have taken their toll putting people off the meeting.

We got here early doors to bag a decent plot but absolutely no need.
4 books in tatts, 5 on the rails and a scattering of punters.

It's Plumnpton, more likely squiggles than stars! Not a bad turn out though.

If you go on the Aintree website you wouldn’t even know we’re racing on Friday it’s just all about the grand national but that’s why jcr are in such a mess ,it happened at haydock when they got a Cheltenham fixture earlier in the year they tried to keep it a secret.

I'm off there today, lovely course, good view, easy to get to for me and train station at the end of the straight.

It’s a long way for me lovegod but I have been many times including when McCoy rode his 3,000 winner it was an incredibly wet day ,not sure they would have raced if it wasn’t for the McCoy factor.

Have a great day

If there was only one runner Godfrey would still be the worst jockey in it

Tough day at the office.
One of the group got the placepot for 40p, £780.00 so that was the highlight of the day.

Lots of faces there today.

Tracksuit Dave still defying the medics. Smiling, bouncing, congratulating McLernon after the first winner, holding forth on the train back after the last. Great to see.

I thought I spotted Vladimir Ilyich Lenin scowling in revolutionary frustration in the stands after the last, but it was just Dave Y.a.t.e.s.

I hadn't spoken to Mark Winstanley for literally decades, but there he was today paddockside, machine gunning Alan the Beard with what looked some pretty forthright views. I asked Winstanley what he thought of Sam Twiston Davies and Paul Nicholls, but had to abort the discussion when the EyeHear app on my phone began to overheat. Still, I took a photo of Winstanley and Alan together, and Winstanley seemed pleased as he carefully filed it among the other photos on his phone, which all appeared to be of either hamburgers or hamburger restaurants.

I don't get to the Sussex tracks nearly enough these days - it's a long old day from Somerset - but drizzly Monday afternoons at Plumpton are where that glorious lost world of the nineties betting rings still just lingers on.

Good to hear mark was out and about I’ve not seen him for quite a while ,hope he’s well,I actually stayed at his place for the 2000 oaks derby weekend he would stay up here when Chelsea were playing at old Trafford and in fact watch the oaks with him as he cheered the winner home which of course was love divine betfairs first race

Chewey11: I was told that Powell had a badly broken arm.
By:
screaming from beneaththewaves
When: 03 Nov 26 09:38
Very unfortunate, because Powell has been riding really well, particularly in finishes. I think he's a big reason why the Tizzards have been having so many winners recently.

And good morning to Jimnast.
By:

When: 03 Nov 26 12:54
It was a horrible looking fall and thankfully nothing more serious than a broken arm.

Nice post SFBTW. I saw our man Tracksuit Dave at East Croydon and like you say, he's always incredibly positive and joyful whenever you see him.
