Some consolation though knowing it's not your fault i'd imagine.

It's often the same story. He's not the worst around, but with the talent he sits upon, he should do much better..

What drivel ya talking bout Hayden ya complete buffoon...fault ??

Yeah EL11 agree totally ...horses he sits on ...exactly that ...shoulda had Cinderella Dream and NS in the van ..3rd or 4th and use turn of foot on each ..win snugly...Moore woupda won on both imho... he s average at best...
Love to see Billy the Kid get the gig at some stage...

Had every conceivable chance. His winner was a much weaker ride.

Over a million dollar race and Buick completely messed it up on Cinderella, clearly the best horse, Buick dithered the whole way waiting for a gap, typical buick to be honest, another million down the crapper.

I am not keen on him at all, but in this case I think both Notable Speech and Porta Fortuna under performed. Either that or they are not what they are cracked up to be. You would expect europeans with that sort of form to have finished one-two. I think Buick was fortunate to get one winner. Clearly the best horse has finished second, but because Rousham Park was 25/1, and the favourite's won, nobody is talking about it.

Somebody has to ride the Godolphin horses, and there is just a heap of bad jockeys out there. If it wasn't Buick messing up, it would be someone else.

He had the perfect trip in the race. Not every horse can travel to a different continent and run to its best. It was still a good run and he'd been on the go since January, bar a short break before this journey to the US.

The long season Notable Speech has had could be a significant and genuine mitigation for Del Mar. He ought not to have run on very soft ground in France. Also, he was hindered by his early position at Del Mar.

Being tough and durable is an often overlooked quality. I wouldn't make excuses for Notable Speech based on a long season. He has had just two races in more than 4 months. For me he's been disappointing since the Guineas. The Goodwood win in beating a horse who hasn't won a race for more than two years wasn't that great. Likely he just wasn't as good as the hype that surrounded his Newmarket win. The flat game is often built on hype that is never confirmed. His rating of 122 would suggest he was well short of exceptional.

For most the breeders cup is an afterthought...not many are trained purely for these self proclaimed world champs, what a laugh that is.

as for buick, one of the best out there...to say otherwise is just ridiculous.

The Wnr was last & gave Notable Speech 3Ls for a lot of that race.
Don't know how his position hindered him in the race.

I'm no jockey judge and not really qualified to form an opinion but can't believe the criticism of Buick in general , a perceived sub standard ride then yes but there isn't a jockey dead or alive that hasn't ridden plenty of those.

To say he's average would mean saying there's plenty of employers in that chain who can't know the time of day so i'm not buying into that with what's at stake with that mob.

Good luck today all   Happy
