Beckett 2nd string wins the 1.20 race , as the depth of quality increases the 2nd string strike rate does also.
Maybe it's an indicator as to why it happens with Aidan's stable so frequently , albeit with a lot of catching up to do yet  |

Correct aberdonia but in the modern game punters interpret 2nd strings winning as crooked , but of course that couldn't possibly be the case in the last millennium.

Again from memory though seem to recall Cecil's 2nd string winners numerically were more likely to be Yarmouth standard as opposed to good races , stand to be corrected though as it was a hell of a long time ago  |

Yup, Yarmouth was a staple.. Many a good Cecil horse started at Yarmouth...Really good ones made all and won in a hack canter, never mind 2nd strings.
