    Kemi Badenoch received 53,806 votes

    Robert Jenrick received 41,388 votes

    There were 655 rejected ballots.

    66,288 electors voted online and 29,621 electors voted by post.

nobody is bothered about staying in or leaving echr. it's only a thing politicians and the establishment use to excuse not being able to send back floaters and convicted criminals. ie, if we sent them back, the echr is not relevant. even if we 'left' the echr, the establishment would still want to keep the illegal floaters and convicted crims. It was correct 1st timer. a points system is totally logical, and treats people from every country the same. the reality of the points system set was that nobody is blocked, you just need a pulse.

What i found really shocking was that over 600 voters were unable to correctly fill the form out and 40 odd even voted for both on the same ballot paper.  I really think the time has come for 'democracy' dies require a small degree of literacy or sense - voters should have to qualify by answering a few preliminary questions like what is 2+2, or can a man turn into a woman ....

Just guessing, but I imagine the vast majority of rejected ballot papers will have been deliberately spoilt by protest. eg people ticking all the boxes is a common one, or writing Boris' name on the paper etc.

I think Mr Jenrick is finished as a politician. He could not even beat Ms Badenoch. This election reminds me of Labour choosing Mr Foot over Mr Healey. A bad bunch for a deserving Conservative Party.

He's lightweight, and a fake. He was a supporter of Mr Sunak and then jumped a sinking ship over Rwanda. He was the Housing  minister who broke government advice on travel restrictions during the e by travelling to his family home, and visiting his parents.

He ought to have voiced his opposition and disagreement at the same time as Ms Braverman; the Rwanda plan was half-baked. If was was happening the opposite way, if floaters were leaving Dover, and turning the engine off halfway, do you think the French authorities would taxi the to France and give them free accommodation, money, healthcare, put the men into schools, dental care?
