And in what possible way do you think she rode it well ?She stayed on the horse that was about it . Mayb ok for a 10lb claimer , but what justifies a good ride ? It wins easily with a jockey on board .It is just annoying when 10lb caimers are put up on the best horses in the race .

Never seen the race but Nicola is a young rider learning here trade. Criticising the young girl on a public forum does nobody any good. Your bet lost, get over it and show some patience, support and understanding.
She is on a learning curve and will be a great success with experience.
We all made mistakes when we entered the work space. Good luck Nicola.

she did well to get it out and find a way through in the final furlong...
Kieren Fallon in his pomp would have done well to win on that imv.
i'd love to know what mistake she made tbh...horse was denied a run about 4 times...she did well to get it out and find a way through in the final furlong...Kieren Fallon in his pomp would have done well to win on that imv.
Agree with mighty mac Although she's probably unlikely to read this forum, you've got to cut them some slack... Criticising an experienced jockey for a perceived bad ride is fair game A young person in any sport is going to make errors of judgement Just hope she wins a decent race in the future and someone ttt this thread

It’s only Jinxy moaning about her. His thoughts should be instantly dismissed whenever he airs them. There’s not a jockey riding who ‘isn’t sh1t’ once he’s lost his money on their mount.

Well now. Scholarship was part of an ew trixie for me. I backed it in the morning @ 10/1 with a 12/1 winner and 4/1 winner. So had it won (and it could have), I'd have been a lot better off. So I watched a few replays of its recent runs over 1m 2f and 1m 4f. It needed to be closer to the pace imho. I checked out Nicola's race record. She's never had a winner, but 10lbs must have made a big difference. I thought she did well in the early and mid part of the race. She was unlucky in the last two furlongs, Leopardstown is a tricky, trappy finish. Frankly I felt she was outridden by the winning apprentice. He grabbed the vital gap, she followed behind. The improvement shown since joining Gerard O'Leary is substantial. Young Pietro could be a champion one day. Well done Nicola, you rode a lot better than some 'names' at Ascot on Saturday.

jinxy clearly doesn't understand the concept of handicapping and the difference weight, distance and the going make to the outcome of a race. He states that "It wins easily with a jockey on board .It is just annoying when 10lb claimers are put up on the best horses in the race." If it had what he calls a jockey on board, lets say Keane, Carroll or Roache, fully fledged top jockeys, the horse wouldn't have been anywhere near the first 3, it would have finished near Soaring Monarch in 6th/7th probably as per 2 outings ago, he doesn't get that the only reason the horse finished as close as it did was precisely because it had a claiming jockey taking 10lbs of its mark. In any case the winner and the 3rd both put up a load of overweight, if their jockeys had been able to claim their full allowance they both would have been well clear of the 2nd horse he claims should have won. Notice he didn't comment on Sam Coens ride on Orandi in the 3.00 earlier, presumably he didn't back that one also ridden by a 10lb claimer.

you got 9/2 cos she was riding it, if they had a "jockey on board" you're not getting 9/2.
