Absolutely , there was a TV prog about his transition from cyclist to aspiring racing driver , was absolutely superb , very humble bloke and a fanatical coffee drinker (I empathise ) . His attitude to his illness sums him up , a top man . Fingers crossed for both .

Very sad, much to young. Its a killer and I encourage you to go and get checked at your Dr, blood test the first step. Caught early enough you'll have a good prognosis and avoid it spreading throughout your body. Book an appointment today!

Try calling at 8am tomorrow morning and getting an appointment within two weeks.

Yes, might help if we'd had a funded NHS for the last epoch of time...

Horrible for the guy though, and his family circumstance too - life is cruel sometimes.
Report stu October 20, 2024 10:33 AM BST
The guy has worked, just for the purposes, for UNICEF for children, mental health support, and social enterprise for the homeless.

Karma really doesn't exist does it?

Tragic news. But what a wonderfully positive message he gave out, despite everything.Top bloke.

"The good die young & the devil looks after his own!"  Sir Chris positive outlook will at least add some time.

What horrible news? I hope he gets a reprieve, and a miracle; 48 is far too young. I've known people lived far beyond their given estimation. I also hope he can live as normal a life for as long as possible.

Let's pray for a miraculous recovery for the bloke.

My dear old dad was given his terminal diagnosis back in March 2012, more or less the same condition and cancer as hoy. He had absolutely no symptoms, until feeling ill suddenly one morning. He got 3 years, albeit the last 6 months were dire at best. I was blood tested and anal tested every 6 months from then and i was diagnosed in the very same month back in 2019, remember walking in to the office to see the urology nurse and seeing the exact green folder on his desk, that the guy before me had walked out with, so knew what the consultancy was about. i kind of knew anyway, but the missus was in bits. Bit surreal really, but i got the early thumbs up thankfully and although some of those awful biopsies have been necessary, obviously thankful of the chance to control it, rather than it controlling me. Sorry Chris, awful news..

Most men die WITH it, than FROM it. Got to detect it early that's why there is a campaign to get men over the age of 50 tested. Men of colour are at a greater risk. I had 75% of my prostate removed some years ago. Thankfully only due to a benign condition. In many cases symptomless until too late.

Wish both him and wife good health for as long as possible.  Sounds like Bill Turnbull's case where it was discovered after it had spread.  He lived for a while afterwards including a regular programme on Classic FM.
