One imagines they (or all bar one of them) got your number off a mugs list that is passed around, or sold. And of course, as soon as you take the call, even if you tell them to sod off, you confirm it is a live number.
How you got onto the list in the first place is the only question. Maybe a so-called friend passed your number on. Maybe you once dealt with a tipster. I used to have a similar problem back in the day but then it was letters rather than phone calls. I think some of those involved got put away for a stretch. Other victims probably get emails, or Whatsapp or Facebook or... What you could try is saving their numbers under a silly name that you can then recognise and either block or just do not answer. Stay safe. |

We are about to end our fixed line phone contract because it is so little used nowadays - aside from the ba*st*rd scam callers and sales people.
But a little trick that I came up with a few years ago still works if the caller sounds like a female. I let them talk for a few seconds, before saying 'could I just ask a quick question about that'?. This really gets them interested because they think they are reeling in a fish. I then ask 'what colour knickers have you got on today'? To date, every caller has then put the phone down - sometimes with a choice adjective. If it is male caller, I let them talk before then blowing a referee's whistle at full blast down the line. In fact, when the landline contract ends next week I shall rather miss my little games!!! |

I received a text supposedly from a former champion jockey who is on ATR regularly along side Chapman.
I replied with trial for a laugh and got a tip every day 3pt win during the 2 weeks I replied that this was reckless tipping(no reply)at the end was asked for £40 per week. I replied that if I bet to £100 pp I would have made £75 but invested £5100 to achieve this I told him if I have £5100 I don't need the 75. During the spell one tip was on ATR and he was all over it sowas thinking is it him. He went down to £30 then 20 and I just blocked the number. Another was from the jockey of see you then I replied **** off galloping cavalier and got no tips. |
