Cobden nearly caused his horse to be brought down imo.
By:
Wasn't a big enough gap IMO...and I backed the 2nd.
By:
Has to stand. No way of being confident the 2nd would have won without the interference. Small ban for Twister
By:
Won't change but Ludor abs murdered
By:
2nd may well have won but the 2L will save it no doubt..

not even a stewards - mental

Was a huge gap which shut off as Cobden went through. He was entitled to go for that run. Ruddy unlucky despite some comments here.

Side on looked like no gap
Haven't seen head on |
By:
Professionals in the sport say tough, you shouldn't go there. But the stewards are not professionals.
Perhaps the question could be, if he pulled off the rails and challenged on the outside would he have got up. I would say he wouldn't. |
By:
Duffy you're blind seen the replay head-on? Could have got a bus through there.
By:
that is simply incredible that no stewards wasnt called...its qas 1.0001 to be called.
By:
Agree Rico. Was it even discussed or did they just fail to see the head-on?
By:
cobden riding like a prck , no need to go up the rail.
By:
never showed hd on on rtv..did on blv..winner went 2yds left and nearly caused 2nd to fall..

By:
Armchair Jinxy - stupid comment
By:
Well if the gap does not close he wins going away it`s that simple.
By:
Coming to the last you could see Cobden was not thinking his horse would not be involved in the finish. Cobden cold not care less or he would have objected!
By:
Sorry , put that wrong , Cobden was not expecting to be involved in the finish !
By:
won 2L would av been futile..odds on winning jock gets a ban.

Race 4 - 3:30pm
THE MID-WARWICKSHIRE CLEANING SUPPLIES LTD MAIDEN HURDLE RACE (CLASS 4) (GBB RACE) Permission was given for FIRST CUT to wear a red hood to the start. An enquiry was held to consider interference inside the final ½ a furlong involving the winner, GLYNN BRAE (IRE), ridden by Sam Twiston-Davies and LUD’OR (FR), placed second, ridden by Harry Cobden. Twiston-Davies was for suspended for 7 for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift left-handed when insufficiently clear of GLYNN BRAE (IRE), causing Cobden to take a significant check and his mount to clip heels and stumbled. Following the race, James Best reported that HELPFUL, which was pulled up, ran too free. Sean Bowen reported that TRUST HOUSE (IRE), unplaced, hung right-handed. yet not announced? |
By:
Following the race, Jinxy reported that there was no gap,and that Cobdens a clown .

That report suggests that they didn't hold an enquiry into whether the placings had been affected (no mention of that in the report), but into whether STD had ridden without due care and attention. Hence no need to announce it to the punters.
I'm not saying they were right not to consider the effect on the placings; just pointing out why they might not have announced the enquiry. |
