Just had a look back at it, that was a shocker, can only hope it wasn't as bad as it looked.

That sounded a positive update, conscious and talking and taken to hospital.

Saying the horse looked ok and galloped past the post,

Looked to have gone wrong to me , at least four or five strides before he fell.

Was also sweating profusely as if he was hurting.

Hopefully both are ok.

I did notice the sweat on its front. The fact they are on the next race must be a good sign

Looked to have took a bad step or just clipped heels.
Hope all OK.

Rhys Elliott, the rider of MASTERPAINTER had fallen approaching the final furlong. Rowan Scott, the rider of WHATWOULDYOUKNOW (IRE), and Ben Sanderson, the rider of MR HEINZ, were interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, but Elliott was unable to be interviewed as he was being assessed by the Medical Team. It was found that the incident was accidental and was caused by MR HEINZ shifting marginally right-handed causing a weakening MASTERPAINTER (IRE) to be moved slightly off its intended line thus giving a bump to WHATWOULDYOUKNOW (IRE) causing the gelding to become unbalanced and shift left-handed, which in turn, moved MASTERPAINTER (IRE) back behind MR HEINZ, which then resulted in MASTERPAINTER appearing to clip a heel, stumble and fall.

I think in that situation Rhys Elliott found himself in, where he's on a horse that's starting to weaken and is being squeezed out by closers either side of him, an experienced jockey would have got a tight hold of the horse's head and eased back out of it, which is what he did initially, but being young, keen and eager to try as hard as possible, he started to nudge away again before he was out of the gap and he's ended up appearing to have clipped heels.

Yes cracked vertebrae and a collapsed lung probably a decent result considering the fall. A good lad, fingers crossed he makes a full recovery
