sounds good Derby winner ( German )  but form looks ordinary.  Would very much prefer to be seller than buyer at that price.

Nicky Henderson has boosted his already impressive squad for the 2024-25 jumps season by acquiring the services of €1.4 million (£1.2m) purchase Palladium.

Bought at the sales in France on Saturday, the German Derby hero has become the most expensive horse to be sent over jumps after breaking the record set by Regent's Stroll, who returned to Paul Nicholls after fetching £660,000 at the Goffs Summer Sale at Doncaster in July.

The three-year-old was formerly trained by Henk Grewe, who saddled him to Classic success at Hamburg in July. His most recent outing came last month when finishing last of six in the Group 1 Preis von Europa, a race won by the Charlie Appleby-trained Rebel's Romance.

Speaking to the Racing Post on Wednesday, Henderson said that Palladium had arrived at Seven Barrows in the early hours and a plan for the season had yet to be ironed out.

Why Hendo? He rarely runs his good horses. He certainly does not travel with them. Only Cheltenham or nothing.

Who bought it?
Report impossible123 October 9, 2024 4:14 PM BST
Hendo bought it for Lady Bamford (as a gift) perhaps.

I am more than surprised that a German Derby winner has been sold for hurdling, rather than pursue a stallion career in Germany. ExcitedWhoops

Astuteness shown by the seller for a horse to go hurdling. Is the horse still an entire?
Report penzance October 9, 2024 5:22 PM BST
Get's it act together could be top billing @ Cheltenham.
