The raving post is talking about Tatts book 1 and how much is the Kirsten Rausing filly going to fetch . As a sister to Alpinista winner of the Arc two years ago.
It then goes on to talk about 3 most recent siblings to Arc winners to have been sold and lists 3, which went for 3.1mill, 2mill and 1.2mill and all failed to fire. Struggled to win an aggressive and spoon race apiece.
So surely the advice should be to steer well clear of Arc siblings as it looks like a quick way to the poor house.  Though sheikh Mo won't be missing the £5mill he dropped on 2 selling platers.

Lifted from the RP site :
The most recent example is Caelestis, a Dubawi half-sister to 2019 Arc hero Waldgeist who commanded 1,250,000gns from Al Shira’aa Farms in 2021. Before that, two siblings to Golden Horn, who triumphed in Europe’s richest race in 2015, changed hands at Tattersalls, with Frankel colt Dhahabi fetching 3,100,000gns from Godolphin in 2019, while the same operation gave 2,000,000gns for Princesse D'Or, a filly by Frankel, 12 months later.

The sheikhs could help the nation by sending the above 3 duds to Africa for food as they are only worth 'meat' money now..

i looked up the racing record of a couple of these big hitters ; al naamah (5 m gns ) won one race and 44k of prize money . ...dhahabi (3 m gns ) ; 3 wins and 93k . .. being bred in the purple gives you a start but no guarantee of course !....

Yes Windsor Knot and dhahabi was gelded after a couple of runs.

Totally over priced - price is based on hype on the back of the performance of the elite sibling,  which they are unlikely to emulate.
If you were the breeder you would sell for sure.

The chances are that after one run the value is 10s of K, not millions anymore.
At least this Rausing one is a filly so they can breed from her as she will have some residual value, but would still be a bad value purchase.

You're a member here since 2002 and 23 years later the penny has dropped; well done.

Haha no RA, the penny dropped many years ago. Hence why I've bought and sold plenty of bloodstock.

Trevor - unbelievable prices...  I always wonder where Amo gets all this money from ?

Whippin - whats your problem , why be weird / rude ?  Plenty of people in racing buy and sell horses.  Its normal.

They must be very creative.  It reminds me of the Phoenix racing / one coin,  and John Dance.

If he gets 10% of every football transfer he arranges, £4 mil for a horse is just one days work.

Sage I wouldn't know if he's on 10% or 5%, but if he looks after a handful of players and they all transfer every couple of years would that come to what he's ploughing into this ?  I wouldn't think so.   He dropped £13 Mil yesterday in just one session.

To my knowledge doesnt have any stallions bringing in income so its all coming off the hip.
What is his burn rate ? I'm guessing 20-30 mil/yr ?  He keeps buying million + purchases so I would think he's got to be in that sort of ballpark.

No brainer really with Stoute retiring Becket will get most of the Juddmonte horses as well.

Beckett could be odds on today and sacked again tomorrow !  It was only a couple of years ago that he sacked beckett and moved his horses elsewhere.
He is too fickle. How odd that he is constantly upping and moving sticks, then going back on his decisions just two years down the line.
You cant be a serious contender like this.
If you have opinions stick with them and believe in them, dont keep chopping and changing like the wind.  How is he going to get the best out of his trainers if he behaves like a disloyal so and so ?
One minute they have a full yard and next thing they have 30 empty boxes.  Not a nice way to do business when they all have staff to pay.

True but Beckett knows what he is dealing with and he dont need Amo.

And Andrew Acey, he will be getting more Juddmonte too.
It is nice to see how the younger brigade are now attracting the old powerhouse breeders.  There is definitely a shift  going on.

Someone just paid £1.1mil for a german flat bred to go to hendersons for a hurdle campaign. A very punchy price for an unproven jumper .  It won the german st. leger but thats the only win in its career and its never jumped a hurdle .

You could go into france and buy their winning most hurdler and have change left over.  You would at least know whether it takes to the discipline.

The horse is not German flat bred, the sire is Irish bred and the dam French and dams sire USA bred, semantics you may say but you implied German blood when it was merely born in Germany!!
