I F**** Hate Jockeys.

Given you’ve been on here 23 years,it’s a bit late in the day to come to that conclusion

Most have always been  shy**.
But they are getting thicker and worse.

They aren't known for being members of mensa.

Did this refer to a specific jockey or race?

Most of them in most races.
Probably only half a dozen at most in the Uk that are exempt from my criticism.
I suppose when you grew up watching Cauthen none are going to compare.

I understand the frustrations that for me have increased over the years to a situation where it's now as bad as it has ever been. Simply put, you have to cope with it, or walk away. That's the stark choice. Any of the weighing room, from top to bottom, can mess up on the half hour. Moore leads the pack, but for me that's more because he seems to mess up less than the others rather than anything else. Coolmore provide him with such a production line of talent the mistakes can be very easily be glossed over. 

Obviously, the biggest frustration surrounding jocks is the cheerleading media who just ignore all the faults, day in day out. The everyone's great attitude just encourages mediocrity. That's never going to change.

The only frustration the OP has is losing his money. Anybody who starts threads like Probert you brain dead c***, imho doesn't deserve to be posting on a horse race forum.

Try watching some American racing…

The Prima Donna's of sports, footballers are called out every week by pundits, I don't understand why horse racing pundits have a fear of being honest in opinions. Horse racing is a sport that sometimes comes down to split second decisions, imho it looks far easier to make the right one sitting in a chair at home but that shouldn't stop them from being called out. There is a massive amount of pocket talking on here though which is a massive difference from having a calculated opinion. I suppose if it makes them feel better then fair enough but it doesn't need to be done in a vile way. Some posts on social media cross the line.

That's the thing penzance before sis came, it was only the bbc coverage, I'm sure there were plenty of poor/questionable rides back then. More racing now, everything covered live, it's not an argument imo

The jockey criticism has produced the best winning system in racing mind you,  so not all bad

The concept of bookmarking hasn't changed, horses shorten and horses drift, the difference now is that all drifts are people linning their pockets, that wasn't the case 40 years ago.

The game has always had skullduggery of one kind or another and the idea that it only began with the exchanges is just ridiculous.

In their rush to come on here for little more than just to have a go at other posters (presumably to massage their own egos) some don't seem to be able/or want to grasp the simplest of concepts. People come on here to criticise rides because the media continually shirk the idea. If they gave an honest appraisal then there would be no point/no need in doing the same thing on here just in the same way there is little point in just repeating the endless cheerleading.

Every race has a winner. According to some on here, there must be a hell of a lot of horses that are only winning their races because the horse that "should have won" was given such a poor ride.

Strangely, we very rarely hear from anybody that has benefitted in this way. Certainly not from any of the usual suspects on the jockey bashing threads.

Moral of the story: When losing gamblers win they like to think they are a genius and won due to their depth of knowledge and their sound judgement. When losing gamblers lose, it wasn't their fault, they were unlucky and/or somebody else is to blame.

I would come on at anytime to have a go at the OP and call him out for what he is.

I agree with OP..

Every rider is under the microscope because we see every race....To my eyes, riders today are better than those in previous years, more so over jumps tbf, but if we saw every race in the 70s, 80s etc and the internet was on the go, all the "greats" would be getting pelters from the usual suspects.

The ones who back the favourite in every race, the ones who lambasted jockeys in the betting shop when we couldnt even see the race.

Jockey’s now become the new Risen all of a sudden,until Newcastle deep winter……

I don't so much mind jockeys making actual mistakes, misjudged etc...

The only thing I really hate is when you can clearly see a jockey is making a deliberate mistake or 'tactic' on their horse, and often a very experienced jockey doing it.

That and jockey apologists or cover up merchants after such rides.

Dettori..world class probably 7lb better than most

Moore ….strong capable good rider…

Doyle….capable…

Buick…..capable but mistake prone….

Marquand…very capable….

Hollie Doyle…..bit overhyped imv…..can struggle a bit and guilty of hitting the stifle….imv

Young billy…..potential to be very good…

Dougie Costello…..very good horseman who she be riding quality horses….tbf

Crowley…..overated….

Havlin …probably a good work rider …tbh

Northern riders are more than capable of holding the big jobs….

Shoemark….lost the Inspiral ride…..grade 3…

Levey …average at best…

The rest are capable,obviously some more than others….

I decided to leave out Spencer……it’s all there to see tbh….

What about Oisin?

Mulrennan form....?

An even bigger minefield to add into the equation: Irish Jockeys...

Murphy and Mulrennan are good riders…..one isn’t very popular tho….

Irish riders are all capable but not what they used to be…..

Absolutely F all to do with what I’ve punted…..lots of football players are overrated and bang average but collect huge sums dropping into their accounts each month…..

Some get luck (Ryan Moore) words….some chip away without the good break…..

Relieved to see we have some different opinions on the topic otherwise the exchange existence may come under threat   

IMHO, the jockeys I really dislike the most are those that display the greatest amount in 'variation' in their ability to win or ride well in a race.

Wonder what causes such variations...

Some are just plain rubbish, and oddly I dislike that a lot less!
