Don't fancy any of those! I can see why they want geldings to be eligible. If City of Troy, Calandagan, Goliath and Economics ran, none of the listed runners above would get in the first 4. If they can't get a decent field for an Arc worth £4.3 million, what is going on?

Good question, sage.

Who were you expecting to turn up? You can't magic horses out of thin air. It's a representative bunch of what probably hasn't been anything like a vintage year.
If you are going to quibble about prize money relative to quality did you miss the Curragh? The two Sales races and Cesarewitch all worth ridiculous money. I raised a thread to zero response. |
By:
Sales races are only open to a small percentage of the 2yo population so that is not a fair comparison. If none of the 500 yearlings entered for the sale were any good at the trip then this is what will happen. The Cezarewitch is quite bizarre. I suppose it was supposed to be a trial for the Melbourne Cup A 100 rated middle distance horse beat one that got well beaten in two bumpers. The same outfits walked away with the prize money though.
Going back to the Arc I suppose the Japanese could run away with it this year. |

What an ignorant comment at the end of the OP post!
|
By:
Carnage?
Main players are still in the race who'd be expected to run. |
By:
it looks a good race to me ,they cant all run in it cot economics have other targets and we dont know if economics will get 12f for sure and a fair few lightly raced unexposed improvers in the arc could turn out to be very good .
|

Worst arc yet and love the OP end remarks :)hahaha

Worst arc yet Worse than Motrico in 1932? |
By:
in yeard gone by, having an english derby winner, coronation cup winner, irish derby winner , this would be classed a fab race , trouble is that coolmore are winning these races now with rubbish horses , that they devalue the standard of the arc ,
|
By:
If LDV can do an Ace Impact it will be a decent winner. I think the race that Found won with stablemates Highland Reel and Order Of St George in 2nd and 3rd respectively was a carp one; Postponed (one race too many); Harzand (Derby winner) finished lame; Makahiki (underperformed).
|
By:
Certainly doesn't make me excited but there are a lot of runners that we have never seen in GB or Ireland and one or two might be very good.
