Kempton 5.10, how can a trainer (Fanshawe) be allowed to switch to a 5lb claimer when the declared jockey ( Muscutt) is riding at the meeting and has been declared to ride the horse in the racing post and on the race card?
Talking trough my pocket as I backed the second, beaten a head, no way that happens without the 5lb claim.

It was all part of the Plan and it reaped dividends for them. Nobody can win betting horses pre-race unless they have inside information. Owners, Trainers and Jockeys are all in on it.

It’s actually easier to back a winner just by looking at the form, rather than listening to inside info.trainers and jockeys are too busy with the day to day to know anything, just cos there horse is going well, they don’t know about the others in the race.

looks like Muscutt is not riding tonight.

Yep, Muscutt apparently not taking his rides.
Kind of makes a nonsense of studying a race and taking account of weight to be carried when trainers can change the makeup of the race like that, who knows perhaps the trainer of the second would have liked to have put up a 5lb claimer, even things up, if he had know in advance that Fanshawe was doing it, maybe every trainer in the race would like the option once they knew what’s happening, kind of make a nonsense of publishing weights in the first place wouldn’t it.
Surely not difficult for the rules to stipulate that a horse must carry the weight published in the press, if you wish to switch to an apprentice then he can’t claim, else what’s the point of studying only to find out after you placed a bet that a horse in the race will be carrying 5lb less than you thought it would.
And they wonder why turnover is falling of a cliff.

Form means nothing, the trainer owner and jockey decide whats going  to happen in every race every day,.......

potlis, I agree with you, I remember the Bests were quite good at it. Many will say the fully fledged jockey is better than the 5lbs off with the apprentice but that's for the punter to decide, I'd feel aggrieved too, especially as Fraser is the best apprentice around in my view.
