Magnum Force was one of the biggest eyecatchers at the Ebor meeting when second in the Roses Stakes, poorly drawn, switched to the favoured far side around halfway, and then threading his way through to a never-nearer second.
But having wrote that, Hugh has tipped against it - gone for Make Haste! Fwiw, Mr Lightside / Maw Lam are my two against the field at prices. Good luck |

Maw Lam blue its chance in the stalls but made up a lot of ground, MF ran well enough, 2 too good though. Unlucky punks.

Do you think the near side was slightly quicker or just two better horses?
|
|
By:
Both raced nearside, was that just a case of them being the best horses regardless, or is it worth looking at the high drawn horses in the finale?
Ain't Nobody was outclassed but he did finish off on the front foot towards the near side. |

Great minds....

Snap, won't know the answer for a while.

I should have said outpaced rather than outclassed, but he nearly got up for 4th.
South Parade, in-form filly with Tommie Jakes taking 5lb off, no complaints about trap 16 on that admittedly limited evidence, but that said, a few of the more fancied ones are drawn high. |

made his layers day

By:
Good luck with South Parade GB, haven't looked at it, but as you say all the fancied horses drawn high.

By:
Shout missed the break and came from a fair way behind to win on the near side from the 10 stall.
|
|
By:
And Whirl was drawn 9/9
Might be just the best horses regardless but certainly no bad thing to be racing nearside Cue the horse drawn in 1 wins the big field sprint ![]() |

Bad luck, 1st 2, 17 and 16.

Had Shout :) rab finally repaying me a bit..

And with Paddy's Day in 4th, three of the first four home were racing closest to the stands-rail.
|
|
By:
Perhaps MF was badly drawn again possibly.
|
|
By:
Certainly be worth having a look back at the straight course races.
