Not easy to say if you wear dentures.....But i mean Chancellor runs in the Group 2 Champagne Stakes on Saturday ridden by R.Havlin whie Shoemark sits on the bench in the weghing room.O.K Havlin has ridden it in it's last three runs but the Stable Jockey should be on it surely......It's not as if Rab is retained by the owner.

It is not unusual for connections to stick with winning horse/jockey combinations so I'd not read too much into this particular race. Havlin is second jockey at the Gosdens iirc. It's like Bryony winning Grade 1 races on Frodon not being a slight against Harry Cobden at Ditcheat over jumps.

But in this case, one also thinks of Cheveley Park jocking off Shoemark with Ryan Moore last month for Inspiral's unsuccessful bid for a third Jacques le Marois after Shoemark had twice been beaten on her.

The truth is that neither Shoemark nor Havlin are up to replacing Frankie Dettori as stable riding groom, and when horses are evenly matched, jockeys make the difference. Havlin is also about a million years old.

I don't rate Havlin but to tbf he is 50 which makes him 3 years younger than Dettori. He just looks older.
