Surprised this isn't a bit shorter. Not sure Illinois is anything special, and Jan Brueghel is more about about what he might produce, rather than what he has produced. Grosvenor Square since being allowed to bowl along over a distance looks to have taken a big step forward. I don't think he has just nicked those last two finishing positions. He has gone a decent gallop from the outset, and kept going. The small field surely plays into his hands again. Who would want to potentially sacrifice themselves chasing after him? Possibly he might have wanted it softer, but they have had a spot of rain, and I think he's very much the one to beat. Interesting to see who is booked. Not out of the question that Lordan would pick him.

Well the price won't contract off the back of that booking. At least he's ridden him before - had been six different jocks in seven runs.

It's disappointing the best horse Los Angeles is a non-runner. No Euphonic either, the expected hare. However, I'm pleasantly surprised Levey is on Jan Brueghel. I think it's a positive; nhe was on January (2f), and not Moore in the May Hill Stakes.

Yes, and Grosvenor Square posted a very good time. I only wish they had an experienced top jockey, Jamie Spencer was available. Why, oh why, have they got Gavin Ryan? Perhaps he knows the horse, but he's only just out of appreticeship.

Maybe they think he can do a Padraig Beggy. Type of ride should be similar.

Just my luck, backed genuine good ground horses yesterday who wouldn't have wanted the rain, now likely to dry up for Saturday.

Difference with the Beggy ride would be he had the element of surprise. Everyone knows what Grosvenor Square will do.

It's always disappointing when you don't get the best horse's but if the prize money is **** what do you expect.
Something more beneficial happening in Ireland this weekend but it's impossible you would realise this
