If ever proof was needed of the poor standards of jockeyship currently, check out the 2nd race today at Catterick. Quite how tacking across so early to the far side rail on a left handed track was supposed to give them some sort of advantage I'd love to hear it. It's like an 800m athletics runner choosing to run in lane 8 for the second lap when his opponents are in lanes 1 and 2. Brainless behaviour between the 4 of them. Their connections surely will be asking for a thorough debrief from each of them post race.

Worthy of the stewards asking the question too.

The current bunch of jockeys are the worst I have known in my lifetime by a country mile.

Totally agree, only one that is consistently good is Oisin Murphy, seems to have a knack of getting in less trouble than everyone else. The others seem totally incapable of getting out of the stalls quickly/ stopping anything from pulling and not bumping like dodgem cars. Awful.

Oisin head and shoulders the best around since Dettori went abroad, C T Keane in Ireland was riding well but he has lost his mojo over the past year or so.

I suppose Rossa Ryan, Hollie, Marquand, Buick would be put forward as good jocks but in reality they are just moderate. Buick could be so much better if he wasnt such a coward in the saddle, the moment he gets tightened up, squeezed a little or boxed up he instantly drops tools and gives up.
