This is fantastic news. One of the best commentators out there. Good to have you back John.
Brighton - a very low-key handover from Sean Boyce, which is probably a good thing.
Yep...incredible tbh that he has the strength to come back to work....many wouldnt be able to. All the best John
John HUnt strikes me as the sort of lad who will find solace in his work.
and in this job too Dancing. But glad he's back always been one of the very best.
Best thing I've heard for a long time. Been wondering if it would happen and it's fantastic that it has.
Good to hear, best for him to get back to work, some normality again. Far better than locking yourself away with your thoughts, best wishes Mr Hunt.
Fantastic to see and hear John again. Truly lost in admiration for this Gentleman Commentator! Welcome back John!
Must want a bit of normality, I couldn't do it.
Agree with all the other well wishers, great to see you back .
Ditto to all of the above. Great to see him back. Jeez, what he's been through, can't even begin to imagine how's id cope with that.
Yes indeed, it's absolutely heart warming to have him back calling them home.
Bravo that man.
Bravo that man.
Great news
What he must have gone through doesn't bear thinking about
Very brave to return, don't think I could have done it

Thoughts & prayers with you John if you're looking in.
Perp has pleaded not guilty to the multiple murder charge and denies being in possession of an offensive weapon.
adding insult to injury.

Well said all. Cannot imagine what it must've been like to find your wife and daughters like that...
Sincere best wishes and All the best for the future Mr Hunt.
Let the perp go free ....
And then justice could prevail
And then justice could prevail
John Hunt working at Kempton tonight after today's news, brave man ,but good to keep busy.
Yes very brave but he has to get his life back to normality and he is good at his job.
i know what you are saying sageform and i'm not attempting to be pernickety...
but there will never be 'normality' for John Hunt after this...
all he can do is to do his best to re-build his life as best as possible and somehow come to terms with what happened...
and i'm sure we all wish him the best in doing so.

Going racing, preparing and delivering his commentaries is the normality that he has lacked since the murders.
Sageform, he is hardly going to get back to "Normality" having lost his wife and two children in a heinous act, nor should he have to, would you? Yes he is back keeping "busy" but no way will life ever be normal
Of course not but at least it should feel more "normal" than sitting at home. We are only disagreeing on semantics so lets leave it there.
Great to have him back. A fine commentator and a lovely man. (Thommo would never be described as such.)
The lisp seems to be a new thing. Struggled with his "s"s at Sandown yesterday. Recent dental work?

No one should go through what he has, I'm sure the vast majority in the country wish him the best.

I'm going to watch it later H.H.but it'll be a very difficult and heartbreaking interview I'm sure.
Any sane person would realise this was horrendous, but I don't know why he has made this programme. I can't see that it would serve any purpose. I won't watch.
This crime alone shows why there should be a Death Penalty in the UK.
In the meantime,we have to pay to keep this evil criminal alive

It's obviously understandable why they are thinking along those lines, but just because this despicable inhumane vermin did what he did, doesn't men all boys and men are predisposed to be evil to women. There will always be rancid nutters unfortunately, brainwashing little boys won't change that. In fact, it would more than likely be counterproductive.
They both showed incredible courage and composure to request to the BBC to make that programme.
I really think I'd struggle to overcome the thoughts of retribution and doing what most of us would do given half a chance to do it.

Alas, the BBC can't do anything without pushing its political agenda. Yesterday's host being one of the most prominent proponents.
John Hunt is dignity personified and will be forever persecuted by what this cowardly fiend did to them, for the rest if his life. From their account, it sounds like they were treated quite badly by various organs of the state as well, no surprise either that they are incompetent even in cases of the highest profile. As I touched on, it's understandable that this vermin entering their lives and ultimately destroying them has given the family a view that all boys need 'fixing'.

didnt watch it so clip on newsnight, but for anyone watching it,when they say there were no signs of this possibly happening, out of the blue etc, were any of the hunt family aware his brother was in jail for killing someone, which may have been a red flag
I wonder what his thoughts are on capital punishment? Is that covered in the show?
It was one of the surreal news moments in my life time when the story broke.
It’s hard to wish someone the best when their world has been so cruelly ripped apart. He deserves credit for even being able to get out of bed in the morning.
A very brave man and may he find some peace within.

1tp, I thought the same thing,
I have two kids, one girl, if she
Was going out with a young murders
Brother, it would really worry me.
Read a book recently, Blueprint, by Robert
Plumin, nurture v nature debate, having read
That, it’s seems your DNA, is 50,60,70% of
Almost everything
Also not sure I’d done, or been able to do an
Interview like that, how does it help I wonder?

1) John and Amy set their own agenda.
2) I'm sure John and Amy will be delighted that you have hi-jacked this thread to push your political agenda and also delighted that you feel able to tell them where they have gone wrong in their thinking.

the boy who killed the hunt's was a far right nut, as was that lunatic who killed the young lad walking to school in London..The excuses made for white nutters by some on here is impossible to comprehend.
He appears to be coping remarkably well after what happened and to still live in same house where it happened shows a lot of moral fortitude. I presume he didn't see the aftermath of this terrible event or surely he wouldn't be able to get the mental pictures out of his mind.
I'm no supporter of the BBC political bias, but didn't really notice any agenda last night. His daughter and himself merely stated that the boyfriend had shown no signs of being potentially abusive or violent before this attack on his family.
They knew his brother was in prison but he himself seemed a nice normal lad, before being dumped days before by his daughter. They just reflected upon the fact that the killer had watched the misogynist Andrew Tate the night before. This then led the conversation into talking to young boys at school at an early age to respect girls to counteract the likes of Tate and other misogynists on line.
I don't really see anything wrong or political in that personally.

I haven't hijacked the thread.
John Hunt actually took took the conversation away from trying to pin a multiple murder on social media discourse. John then went on to suggest all boys should be taught at primary school age iirc how to treat women, and take the responsibility away from family. I cannot agree with that at all, things being outsourced to the state that should be taken care of at home are fundamental to a lot of the issues of our time. But, I cannot iterate enough, John Hunt has every right to hold that opinion, it is completely understandable for obvious reasons. As I am entitled to disagree.
Amy was a bit different and started referencing the nonsense drama Adolescence that guardianista types got all excited about. Adolescence is highly political and complete fiction. Why people talk about it as if it's real, is quite the mystery.
I did not bring the BBC show up on the thread, but people were discussing it. I then discussed it. The only reason you have contributed, it appears, is to have another juvenile dig at me. duck's Water back off a.

Does anyone truly think that is possible with the mix of cultures now in schools here?!
It was bad enough when I was in school and have any of you seen girls on social media putting their blokes hands on their necks to be strangled?!
The things that you all thought weird back when Hutchinson was found or the Orange biting MP are now the norm amongst the young.
My friend even told me that his son during sex education was taught safe strangulation techniques to use!

The shrimp was a sick pup and should be put down as such, his brother too.
Isn’t anyone who doesn’t like the PM far right these days?!
Laughable!

like 99% of violent men this guy didnt show in public to anyone else he was violent, FOOK me its bred in to THE DNA of violent men,its how they groom, them, get them to go back after beating 12 shades of **** out of them, what did the hunts expect him to say, i,ve been bullying.violent towards your sister
Women can be evil to men but it manifests differently, not ordinarily through extreme violence, but they will see their lives ruined, often via patient revenge. Evil behaviour from fellow physical humans cannot be eradicated. Certainly a good upbringing at home can help to mollify the risk.
not sure i agree/or its a good idea of the HUNTS to expose 100,d of 1000,s of godd kids from good families top the world of the TATES etc,you might end up inadverdently pushing previous well behaved kids/ignorant to the online world of the tates of this world in to that sphere even if through just been a little bit nosey, at the end of the day this was a domestic gone wrong like dozens before it, and 1000,s before TATE was even born, heard of
A tough watch....Bring back The Death Penaly?.....I would vote for it Tomorow.
would you then leave the forum forever?
i have no interest in this grotesque case and dunno why anyone would want to watch their misery
but the death penalty, even for this creature, isnt a solution. for many reasons

4 sure it’s needed for some of these.
It’s why I asked if he had mentioned it.
The line about teaching boys to respect women in school is so far off and clutching.
Parents what are they for?!
John said he didn't want it, he wanted Clifford to have a rotten life until he goes to hell. Can't say I'd disagree with that.
