In the interest of clarity here's some info. Equidia International puts out all 'premium meetings', flat, jumps and trotting. This may be three or four meetings a day and they are done from a studio in Paris. The only exception is the Arc, one commentator on course and a cover in the studio. For many years the team was Ian Bartlett, John Hunt, Richard Swainston, Arthur Cooper and Patrick Ferriday. This group is now changing and Stephen Powell, Darren Owen, Alex Fussey and David Fitzgerald have been added. These pictures go to any countries that want French racing with English comms, so the reach is broad. Not just Sky UK.
German racing is confined to about six G1 meetings a year for the HKJC World Pool. These are done from a studio on course but without access to a 'naked eye view'. These are covered currently by Ferriday, Bartlett and Powell.

I'm pleased they've made some changes.  For the German, if it wasn't about 5 minutes behind, I like the German commentator on Wettstar, sometimes it's nice to hear it in the local language.

Sorry I spelt your name wrong earlier.

Germany has only about five commentators for their big meetings. They are pretty good, not like 20 years ago. They get very carried away in the closing stages, which isn't to my taste but there's no lack of enthusiasm. The one in Bavaria is particularly good, and Berlin and Hamburg also. Didn't realise the German delay was so bad.

Yeah, carried away, especially if it's a German winner as in Fantastic Moon.. but I quite like that.
The German Derby is manic.

I thought the comms must be from a studio in Paris, but with all those new names, must be a lot of flying around for you all.
