A fair hike for a jockey of his standing to travel from Kinross to Cartmel for one ride on a relative outsider in a £3700 race.
Intriguing.

Well he had one mount there on Saturday (PU at 40/1 for Andrew Hamilton), so he's probably made a weekend of it. Although as Davy Russell said, he doesn't drink as much as he used to.

Also, he did a similar thing back in May. Rode today's horse on the Monday (6th of 13 at 18/1, only mount), having had one mount on the Saturday (4th of 5 for Lucinda).

He also had one mount on June 30th here (12th of 13 at 40/1 for Leonard Kerr), with no ride near by.

On the plus side, he's ridden winners at 33/1 (for Hamilton) and 20/1 (for Kerr) here in the last 5 years, and shows a level stake profit at the track in that period.

You say a jockey of his standing Northanlite....maybe the racing fraternity doesn't rate him that highly.

Doesn't get a lot of outside rides...has been riding for fifteen seasons and has never even rode 40 winners in a season.
