Mare is the problem, not the jockey.

Beaten in its last 7 races now , horse needs either retiring or dropping in class.

Held on to her for as long as possible.
Btn by 2 younger fillies. She had every chance today. |

thought he rode a perfectly good race, sits and waits would still have lost imo, just outfought by Content these Ballydoyle horses know how to dig deep

Shoemark did nothing wrong on Emily Upjohn (EU); the horse looked the winner; the eventual winner looked cooked or buried. But, EU is clearly having different ideas about the game; she did not go through with her run unlike last season.

When you Mugs gonna realise Shoemark is Top Class, Mare ran out of gas none of that went to soon b0llax.

Kieran's Grandad Bill won the Whitbread on Grey Sombrero. Just saying!
Cagliari - aren't you and Acey in violent agreement on this one? Just wondering? |
|
By:
never ridden, trained or owned a horse but cant see the difficulty with a speed horse in sitting in behind the fav with worlds best jock on , and have one go half a furlong out
but what do I no |

By:
Never would have guessed Acey, I wonder if he thinks Strong Crosswinds helped to aid the fast times yesterday?

Just saying that from your post on were sensible Blackbarn, changed since obviously!!

I believe Coolmore used Port Fairy to lure Emily Upjohn to the front then leave her stranded there a long way from safety.
|

By:
Cantering over them at 10 furlongs, legless at 12,can't fault the jockey.
|
|
By:
tbf - they said PF would go forward. Might have done EU a favour; she certainly looked motivated today, but she is clearly nothing like as good as she was.
|
|
By:
the winner was the one 'stranded'
just shows how peoples' interpretation of rides hinges on the outcome in most cases. |
|
By:
Well John Gosden said (sic) “the pacemaker helped the winner but not us.” I don’t think you could ask him to be more diplomatic in public straight after the race.
|
|
By:
To paraphrase MRD, he might say that, mightn't he

Actually UB, I don't blame him, but then he cannot be seen to be running out of excuses, can he?
|
|
By:
Coolmore outwit Shoemark? I’m keeping my mind open.
|
|
By:
UB - AoB said PF would go forward. Harsh to assume that it was young Shoemark was outwitted as the race was run. Is JG suggesting that he did not know how the race was going to be run??? Even Ryan did not seem to know, apart from PF.
|
|
By:
Not Gosden but a few others assumed Shoemark would be last to play his hand today.
To be fair, the mare looks difficult. |

I believe Coolmore used Port Fairy to lure Emily Upjohn to the front then leave her stranded there a long way from safety. thunder run made all..COT made all.. Content won easy despite being very free most of the race..no excuses emily isnt the horse it was. |
