Tom Marquand legitimately cut across in front in of him approximately 4f out to take the lead, at which point it seems James Doyle spotted an opportunity to keep Davies in a pocket, but Davies at the same time was angling off the leader's heels and it all got a bit messy with Doyle (who was on the bigger filly) coming off second best and being forced wide.
I'm not sure there was any intent from Davies, so the "improper riding" charge seems a bit harsh to me.
What you could see of it after the line it appeared Doyle was having words with Davies.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 4 furlongs out when the winner, RAHEENA (IRE), ridden by Harry Davies, interfered with AL KHAWSSAA (IRE), placed third, ridden by James Doyle. Tom Marquand, the rider of THE EYES HAVE IT, placed second, was also present in the enquiry but was found not to be involved. Davies was suspended for 5 days for improper riding as he maneuvered his mount left-handed when upsides AL KHAWSSAA (IRE), taking Doyle slightly off his intended line and causing him to take a check.
