Have watched the head-on several times and I can't see what the stewards can possibly be looking at.

An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line involving the winner, BAY DREAM BELIEVER (IRE), ridden by P. J. McDonald, FIRST ENCOUNTER, placed second, ridden by William Cox, CERULEAN SUMMER (IRE), placed third, ridden by David Egan and HIGH COURT JUDGE (USA), placed fifth, ridden by Luke Morris. The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved BAY DREAM BELIEVER (IRE)’s placing as, although it was hanging left-handed towards FIRST ENCOUNTER, the interference had been caused by CERULEAN SUMMER (IRE) lugging right-handed triggering a right-handed drift whereby HIGH COURT JUDGE (USA) was carried right, resulting in Morris having to take a check, having carried FIRST ENCOUNTER right and ultimately catching and turning quarters of BAY DREAM BELIEVER (IRE). The interference was found to be accidental as CERULEAN SUMMER (IRE) had lugged quickly right-handed despite Egan’s best efforts to prevent it from doing so.
