I think David will see this as a learning experience, and he will build on this to enhance his full skill set.

I don’t think anyone should comment positive or negative,if they ve got a bet on it.

Passing judgement on trainer, jockey, anyone,is fine,as long as it’s not tainted by personal investment.

I really don't understand your point , everyone is entitled to a opinion , or do you not have a opinion when you have a bet which to me is illogical..As a owner if he rode my horse like that I would insist he be taken off next time, he gave the horse a poor ride full stop..

Difficult to argue with that Workrider but at the same time we all know that punters (and probably owners) are not always objective when giving opinions on losing punts (not commenting on this specific issue as had no interest so barely watched the race)

It’s tricky.

Own it or backed it.

Bad ride, not a great ride,90% good ride could have done more.

Where does your investment shade your opinion.

It’s bad form,as dubretts etiquette would say.,it’s your own spilt milk can’t blame someone else for knocking it over, even if they did, don’t leave the bottle unattended.

I can honestly say,a win or loss, dosent motivate my posts.

It’s just my opinion at the time.i would not post or reign back if money was involved.

There may be the odd time, where a massive mistake error happened, and I did have a bet,but commenting on the incident is at the front of my mind, the bets forgot, win or lose, the second I know the outcome.

Why would having money on or owning a horse cloud your judgement when analysing a horse race .... generally you have watched thousands of races if doing so and your opinion is even more valid.. you would be more focussed on the horse if money on so will know even more ... i always watch the replays 5 or 6 times and do so even if no money involved and still view same context...an ill judged ride is an ill judged ride .. look at races to see unlucky horses ir or horses held up for another day ...
Folk who throw out this pocket talking argument ill never understand...silliest argument ever put forward imho...

I agree you should forget the bet that minute it is concluded...something you learn..no harm highlighting poor rides though imv..helps highlights jockeys in form..unlucky horses for nto... what a forum should be about....

100% agree with De Man. I backed it, and I'm ALWAYS happy to own my mistakes, it makes you a better punter when you do. But that was one of the worst rides I've been on the wrong end of in a long time. You can feel frustration and still be objective.

It might not cloud your judgement.

Just don’t see the point slagging jockeys off.loads of factors for horses not winning, maybe bad rides,
Why let it get to you.if the money is that important to you, that you’re on the edge of your nerves, then you shouldn’t be risking that much money.

Yeah I’m happy to say jockey rode bad,but wouldn’t say it if I had money riding on it,just to prove to myself,it’s not about the money,it’s about the opinion.

Yeah agree with all that ... i think its good to point out poor rides either way ..backed or not ...shouldnt let it get to you as part and parcel... but no harm to point out similar to ground conditions .. trainer form etc...should point all out info like if think stable look like running into form..any angles... no harm...doubt any jockeys read this so just good to point out for future... i think Kingscote is riding poorly atm so ill factor that into my thoughts .. Oisin riding superbly so do similar..

Yeah pretty vile - thought twice about adding to it but I had a view on the topic. I regret doing so and only posting this because its back at the top anyway.
