In my defence... Had no access to the head on and I was desperately clutching at straws...

side told ewe was never dangerous .

Jockey stands up in the saddle, pulls the horse up (while he had the rail 1/2 a furlong to go) unless he did that for fun! I'd suspect there might have been an issue with his ground being taken!
