Alec Voikhansky, the rider of POWER OF TWINS, placed second, beaten by 1 length had failed to ride out to the winning post. After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Voikhansky was suspended for 28 days for failing to take all reasonable and permissible measures on a horse which would have finished first.

Not excusing what he did but riders often ease down when they think they are home or when they think they have no chance of improving their placing. |

Who knows ..maybe a punter had his life savings on it...so someone could have ..least a punter should expect is ride out to the line.. if lengthy ban would ensure they have it in mind to keep riding... you wouldnt understand racing and punting rico as ya need to cheat with racing 5 seconds ahead of decent folk... part of the problem ..
