As bad as it gets.

Kept it simple last time at 1/5. Horse looked as if he enjoyed being in front after several disappointments.

The exact opposite today. Only a 7 horse field, but you could see what was going to happen once he decided to take a pull. Never gave a heavily backed horse a chance.

Haven't seen all the races this week, but hard to believe, given the circumstances, there has been a worse ride.

It has caused deprived me of 5-free spins with Mrs Coates's firm. Doyle has had a bad Goodwood Festival; a winner taken away. Maybe tomorrow he'd atone.

Goodwood is like chalk and cheese with and without the cutaway on the round track. They need to find a way to have it implemented permanently. Getting rid of it for the day of the golden mile, crazy.

It's akin to opening the hard shoulder at rush hours only. Some drivers might not have or understand the info and repercussions. I think the cut-away ought to be a permanent thing.

Most of our jocks are not aware of the importance of the start.

Marquand gave Prospero basically the same sit on the inside , reactive ride on a horse that needs time to wind up, unless they are riding something with a stone in hand they have no chance
