Thought Johnny G explained it well. He doesn't hire incompetents.

Even Havlin?

You are not the brightest Impossible123 and wouldn't know a good jockey from a bad one.

That was another "brilliant" ride by Havlin; Mehdaayih sprang to mind. Not even 2nd. Brilliant!

You just show your utter ignorance time and time again. If you think Chancellor would have won with a different jockey on top you are more of a clown than I first thought.

Friendly Soul had tonnes in hand... fav for Mus...Chapman woulda won on it.. Havlin ...why put him up on any horse ..let him ride work at him and give the reigns to Billy the Kid imv..

Havlin gave Chancellor an abysmal ride whatever way ya look at it..wouldnt have beat the winner but he lets it fall outa stalls like every one of his rides... Fallon said most races won at the start where ya should be bouncing your horse outa the gates... then fell asleep during race ..looked for a gap didnt have to and then has to switch..position horse better first half of race this doesnt happen... he shouldnt be riding in races at all..he s a work rider... he can t ride a race... those animals should have a jockey on them ..not trained on course ... would not be allowed in proper regulated racing jurisdictions like Austrailia etc..horses educated and trained in trials etc...not on the race day ..imho of course ..

Thank you. Would not have won if Lester x10 was on it. The horse simply not good enough. Nothing to do with the ride whatsoever.

I backed Friendly Soul. From that draw she had the run of the race. Shoemark just needed to make sure he didn't go too fast. It wasn't too far removed from a bridle job. I haven't seen him win on many that have come off the bridle.

Chancellor was very disappointing. Much more was clearly expected. Given the width of Ascot and the fact it was a five horse race, Havlin got himself into a real mess.

Yes Chancellor was very disappointing and that is all there is to it.

Would not have won if the race was run 100 times and irrespective of the ride.

You can also ride a poor race irrespective of whether or not you could have won it.

Winner had the run of the race, and I suspect was flattered by the winning margin.

A good jockey will win a race on a good horse most of the time. On the other hand a bad jockey will not win a race on a good horse most of the time.

Similarly, a good trainer will get the best from a good horse to run to its potential; a bad trainer will not get the best from a good horse to run to its potential.

Nevertheless, a good trainer will not make a horse run faster; a bad trainer will make a horse run slower.

Shoemark wouldn't be riding for Gosden if not up to it.

DD aka Victor Meldrew again proving he is clueless e.g " Shoemark just had to make sure he didnt go too fast" and flattered by the winning distance?

The fact is that making the running and judging the pace is the most difficult way to ride a race so the result would suggest it was a tactically astute ride, the time suggests similar as does the winning margin, nothing flattering, just simply a very good ride?

He could have held onto the horses ears and it would still have won,it was so superior Grin

Happy to stand by my original comment, and happy to do so without feeling any urge to slag posters off.

Friendly Soul was the best horse in the race, and had the run of the race. Shoemark did what you might reasonably expect a jock to do. Anything else would seem to suggest that jocks are simply not good enough to control easy leads.

Media are going to big up the ride because they are essentially cheerleaders, and they know that the jock has struggled all season. Case of anything for a positive.

In fairness to him, the trainer has also struggled as he said in a recent interview. His top rated horse no where near what he expected and older horses under performing or just not as good as they once were.
